Job Description

The crude oil Operations Inventory Analyst is a key team member with the Schedulers, Traders, and Settlement Analysts in acquiring oil for: a) supplying refineries and b) selling to 3rd parties for profit.

The Operations Inventory Analyst is responsible for the recording and tracking of the physical movement of crude, from the point of origin to its final destination, as a sale to the refinery or trade, for profit. Collectively, the team is responsible for inventory management for STUSCo's (Shell Trading US) crude trading business. Duties include confirming and reconciling volumes, resolving any volumetric discrepancies with counterparties, as well as other trade book cost validations.

Beyond these key deliverables, the Operations Inventory Analyst is expected to “own the molecule” and understand the operations and commercial implications behind the data. The Operations Inventory Analyst plays a critical role in the Crude Trading Operations organization and is expected to manage losses, prevent profit leakage, and analyze / report on all aspects of crude movements within STUSCo's remit.

Requirements

·  Bachelor's degree preferred (not required).
·  Previous exposure to a fast past, high energy, and demanding Trading environment will be an asset.
·  Must have strong interpersonal and team building mindset. Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management skills.
·  Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with a detail-oriented mindset.
·  Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are a necessity.
·  Fluent with MS Excel skills with an ability to use pivot tables and macros to integrate and analyze complex data. Experience with analysis/reporting on large/complex data sets required.
·  Experience with analytics/reporting tools (e.g. QlikView, Tableau, Spotfire) will be an asset.
·  Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis without sponsorship
