Job Description

If you're an experienced IT Service Engineer who combines both technical and communications skills and you're ambitious to grow your career, this could be the ideal move for you. You'll be part of a global team, with all the support and scope you need to develop your skills.

What's the role?
You'll be part of an international team in Technical Landscape Services, working with colleagues based all over the world from Bangalore to Houston to Malaysia. Broadly, you'll be helping to make sure our PetroSigns software applications – used by a global community of users working in geological modelling and reservoir engineering – are available and performing well.

As well as taking care of the technical side of the job, you'll be making the most of your natural communications skills, liaising and negotiating with stakeholders at all levels in the organisation and convincing them to trust the team's solutions and suggestions.

Requirements

What we need from you
You'll bring us a degree in IT or a related field coupled with some experience in an IT Service Engineer role. We're keen to hear from men and women who have developed a strong understanding of ITIL service processes and tools and who've shown they have the empathy to think from both the customer and service perspective.

Technically, we're looking for the following on your CV:

• Hands-on expertise Windows 2008 / 2012
• Microsoft SQL server knowledge
• A good understanding of DCLAN/WAN, RDBMS systems and networks including associated trouble-shooting methodologies
• ITIL/ITSM

These skills aren't essential but would be nice to have:

• Automation experience (DEVOPS/ Scrum)
• Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services (VSTS)
• Exposure to the Oil & Gas industry

Personally, you've shown you can handle multiple tasks and deadlines and that you're motivated by making a difference to your customers. That means that you're affable – someone who can easily reach agreements with people – and confident talking about technical issues in English and using language that your stakeholders can easily understand.
