Seureca is looking for an Assistant Project Coordinator and Business Support.
Context:
Within the local branch SEURECA PLC (Zambia) and specifically for the project Drainage and Municipal Waste Management Technical Assistance for Lusaka City Council, you will be responsible for providing direct support to the Local Coordinator and the Head Office Project Manager in the implementation of the Technical Assistance activities.
Following the completion of the Assessment Phase of the project, stakeholders decided to opt for the creation of an independent commercial utility for the management of Lusaka City Solid Waste and Seureca was appointed to conceptualize and accompany the creation of this new structure for the benefit of the Lusaka Municipality.
This comprehensive transversal Technical and Managerial Assistance will take place between September 2017 and October 2018 and will touch upon all the aspects of company creation including but not limited to: Corporate Governance, Change Management, Institutional setup, Business Plan, Customer Management, Procurement and Supply Chain, IT, HR, Health and Safety, Environment, Operations and Maintenance, Communication, etc.
A team of international experts has been set up to implement the various activities, under the lead of the Local Coordinator, Head Office Project Manager and Steering Committee which you will directly support throughout the project.
Main responsibilities :
- Support to the Local Project Coordinator and Head Office Project Manager in managing the implementation of activities and coordinating missions of experts, including preparation of project administrative procedures and follow up;
- Support on the elaboration of the new entity business model and setup, management of the economic model shift (municipality towards private company);
- Participate in the preparation of the Stakeholder Engagement Framework, Corporate Governance and Change Management and follow up of their subsequent implementation;
- Support in defining the organisational structure and designing necessary processes and procedures for the operational and support departments (HR, IT, Finance, etc.) of the new entity;
- Support in preparing the new corporate communication strategy and branding for better visibility and identity internally within the City Council and externally for the residents of Lusaka;
- Support to the preparation of the Company Business Plan including reflections on financing mechanisms and tariffs;
- Support to the various project activities.
Profile required:
- Educational background: Master degree in Business / Management
- Previous experience: Previous experience in Project Management, Business Plan preparation and/or Business creation / startup
- Skills:
- Good knowledge of MS Office;
- Good capacity to analyze and conceptualize;
- Interpersonal skills and ability to manage clients;
- Excellent writing skills;
- Ability to organize and coordinate a team
Length of the assignment: 12 months
