Graduate / Trainee Data Analyst

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Our client is undertaking assignments for both in the UK and internationally, with a wide range of clients from niche insurers to FTSE100 companies,

Their work often involves analysis of individual data portfolios and population data, to help clients understand future longevity experience and its implications, and is supported by a programme of ongoing research. You will experience a wide range of work in all aspects of their business and work closely with the qualified students in the team. Your day to day work will include:

validating and manipulating data from a variety of sources for analysis of mortality experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL and in-house software

running analysis systems to evaluate key drivers influencing mortality

summarising results of analyses and drafting reports

general consultancy including liaison with clients

undertaking research into and presentation of the latest industry trends

associated administrative support

Excellent communication skills are essential together with a positive and enthusiastic approach. The role will report to the Team Leader, and involves working closely with all team members. The individual must be a good team player, organised and pay meticulous attention to detail. A graduate degree of 2.1 or above, 300 UCAS points, an B in A Level Mathematics and C at GCSE English are required.

This is a temporary position that will provide valuable experience for a graduate considering a career within finance. Strong performance may lead to an offer of a permanent position as an trainee from September 2016.
