Role Summary
 
SDL is a major player with in the Customer Experience Management (CXM) market with 42 of the 50 top global brands as existing SDL customers.  We are looking to recruit a Senior Technical Consultant within the SDL Cloud Services team.   
 
Cloud Services is responsible for the delivery of SDL’s cloud services to our customers. We deliver Tridion solutions ‘as a Service’, in which we are responsible for the implementation, the platform and the infrastructure. The service entails the best practice use of SDL products including SDL Tridion, SDL Smart Target, and SDL Media Manager. Our services are provided globally using distributed delivery teams dedicated to the support and maintenance of infrastructure, platform or implementation. 
 
The Senior Technical Consultant will act as a solution engineer contributing to the improvement of the service and the service delivery processes in support of customers’ change requests during the full lifecycle of the contracts.  The support work is varied ranging from consulting our customers on changes in their existing cloud implementation, developing those change as part of the production services team, guiding the production services team in setting up processes/procedures and tooling to be able to support customer implementations, for the cloud service to improve the overall service.  A key objective is to ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high quality technical consultancy both in terms of technical expertise, documentation and code.
 
This role requires a self-starting capable team player with business and IT skills and the ability to effectively communicate with business contacts as well as the technical teams. They must be able to work in a professional manner with clients and at all times remain focused on key cloud support goals, primarily standardization of the service, financial effectiveness and client satisfaction.
 
A Senior Technical Consultant may be required to work multiple projects at one time. The candidate must be highly organized, customer focused and commercially aware.
 
 
Key Responsibilities
 
 

• Support implementations based on SDL product set, with particular focus on Web Content Management (SDL Tridion) and related products.
• As a technical team member, maintain/develop technical elements of an implementation using SDL best practice approaches.
• Communicate directly with clients or partners providing technical advice and guidance on best practice and developing technical solutions.
• Participate in meetings and workshops with the client in case of required changes to their implementation.
• Maintain/Produce technical documentation as required.
• Ensure knowledge transfer occurs enabling the client to effectively use, and in some instances further develop the SDL solution.
• Be commercially aware of the scope of work, highlighting risks and issues and supporting SDL Project Manager.
• Guide/lead the production services team on effective implementation support
• Act as a Solution engineer for building/improving the service
• Provide input into scoping and estimation of future changes to the implementation.

• Experience with front and back end .NET development (C#)
• Experience with SDL Tridion, experience with SDL SmartTarget or SDL Media manager is a pre
• Excellent communicator, including presentations.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the natural ability to communicate effectively internally and externally. Develop relationships, with both technical and non-technical personnel and in a confident and friendly manner.

• Excellent written English and verbal communication skills
• A self-starter able to work independently and be resourceful in terms of finishing tasks and responsibilities.

• Experience with front-end Java development (JSP, JSTL).
• Knowledge of databases, MVC, RESTful Services, XML, XSLT, RESTful services, JavaScript.
• Implementation experience of SDL Tridion, SDL Media Manager, SDL SmartTarget, SDL Fredhopper, SDL Campaign Management & Analytics.
• Proficient in other languages.

• Technically relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Have the right to live and work in the EU.
• Must have a valid passport and have the ability to travel internationally.
