Our SP Energy Networks business is responsible for the distribution of electricity to your property via our network of pylons, substations, cables and power lines. We serve 3.5 million homes and businesses across Central & Southern Scotland, Cheshire, Merseyside, North Shropshire and North Wales. We work round the clock to make sure you have power.

Job Role:

We are looking for Quantity Surveying graduates to join our graduate training scheme in order to fill a number of critical roles within our electrical infrastructure business.

The scheme follows an established training & development programme and in addition to on the job learning and formal training courses, students are expected to develop themselves by getting involved in a diverse range of challenging projects and tasks.

Graduates will also be supported by further innovative modules (such as Leadership and Development Training etc.) as part of their ongoing development which will be delivered with the rest of your graduate group.

On successful completion of the Scheme you will have the opportunity to work in the Commercial team providing support on various contracts in the following areas:

- Operational Reactive Faults
- Electrical Connections
- Capital Investment works
- Overhead Lines

We have positions available in our operating areas North & South.   

The North position would initially be based in Dumfries with placements around our operating areas in Central & Southern Scotland. 

The South position would initially be based in Prenton with placements around our operating areas in Cheshire, Merseyside, North Shropshire and North Wales.

Minimum Criteria:
Candidates must be degree qualified in a related Quantity surveying discipline at a 2:2 or above to help shape both their own and our future.

This role will offer the opportunity to learn and develop in a highly commercial and competitive environment.  A keen interest in Quantity Surveying is key.
