Job description



Mission

To take ultimate technical responsibility for the application and support of Schneider Smart products and solutions. Providing product differentiation and innovative solutions to our internal and external customers, adding credible competence to the business unit.

Responsibilities

Achieving Sales through:

· Prime route to sale in areas of highly technical consultative applications

· Preparation of technical presentations and demonstrations

· Identification of product differentiators

· Adaptation of the Schneider offer to the customer application

· Advice to the customer regarding their process or solution

· Design of innovative solutions

· System architecture design

· Technical consultancy

· Standards and legislation compliant solutions

Creating Segment wide solutions by:

· Taking a lead role in a marketing/support offer development team

· Identifying strengths and weaknesses of =S= products and their application

· Applying in-depth industry knowledge to create innovative solutions

· Recognition of transportable solutions

· Production of standard specifications solutions, demos and presentations to target segment sales engineers.

· Identification, appraisal and training of System Integrators and partners

Effective Technical Product Marketing through:

· Evaluation and verification of product technical performance

· Direct communication with the manufacturing units regarding any technical product issues or concerns.

· Creation of product documentation, application notes and launch materials.

· Design and build of demonstration equipment for exhibitions, presentations etc.

· Providing roll out training for internal staff and training department (train the trainers)

Provide customer support by:

· Solving customer hardware, software and application problems in a highly abstractive, non repetitive environment.

· Advising on the choice and application of =S= equipment

· Providing a high technical level telephone support service

· Promotion of =S= products and interests.

· Production of application notes to reduce common problems.

· Focussing additional =S= resources such as training, aftersales as appropriate.

· Site visits to resolve complex issues

· Training for a high level of technical support department.

To perform a product owner function including:

· Evaluation of knowledge and skills across the Technical Support and Application support departments, planning and delivering appropriate training in conjunction with the relevant line manager.

· Production of training materials

· Assessment of hardware and software and documentation requirements of team

· To liaise with marketing for product launches and training

· To attend Meetings for Experts to share knowledge and experience.

· To manage product issues and to keep department informed of issues.

Where in-depth specific training is required, the department will prepare and deliver training to:

· Customers

· Sales Engineers

· Business Solution Engineers

· Other Application Engineers

· High level of Technical Support

· Training department

Desired profile



Qualifications :

Essential :

Major in Electrical Engineering/Technical discipline

Segment knowledge and industry experience

Knowledge of prevailing standards and practices

Knowledge of Schneider and Competitor products

Ability to produce innovative solutions to meet customer needs

Strong commercial awareness and project management skills

Excellent IT skills including networking such as TCP/IP

Excellent interpersonal and presentational skills

Desirable :

Master Degree of Electrical Engineering
