The Digital Buildings Business of Schneider Electric provides Intelligent building management solutions to help customers create a productive and comfortable environment for its occupants, reduce energy consumption and run building operations efficiently. As a critical part of this building ecosystem we also provide solutions for fire detection and monitoring of fire detection systems installations.
The Fire Detection Panel team is part R&D and is developing Fire Detection Panels, including HW and SW applications. The detection panels are interacting with distributed sensor systems in buildings and with a Fire expert cloud application.
Schneider Electric has a challenging opportunity for a passionate individual to assume a cross functional role as Component Engineer for our Fire Detection Hardware solution in Lund, Sweden.
In this role you will be responsible securing integrity of critical design related data to ensure products can be maintained, evolved, and produced over the complete life cycle of the product.
Key Responsibilities
· Managing and tracking the creation, change and archive of all information related to products.
· Lead change management and release control on all components in a product.
· Build and manipulate the product structure bill of materials (BOM) for assemblies.
· Secure data exchange between engineering team and various production sites on a global level.
· Monitor and identify lifecycle issues related to products and assist engineers to identify appropriate resources and changes to design.
· Analyze and propose solutions to resolve issues associate with obsolete components and supplies.
· Perform component research and evaluate new components for various products.
· Lead the component risk management process and secure multiple alternatives for critical components.
Wish list of skills and experience
· Bachelor or higher engineering education
· Background in Electrical Engineering
· Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
· Good communication skills; both written and verbal
· MS software such as Word, Excel, Visio, Teams
· Experience in Product Data Management (PDM) tools
· Experience in component life cycle management
