Job description
The Offer Marketing Owner is responsible for the entire offer(s) that the squad(s) is working on, including defining desirable, viable, feasible and sustainable offers that meet customer needs and for supporting development across the entire offer lifecycle. In a multi-squad offer, the Offer Marketing Owner (OMO) would have overall responsibility for defining value propositions, setting strategy, delivering value, setting pricing, involving customers, prioritizing customer needs etc.
Define product / system strategy, vision and roadmaps
Agile Offer management plays an integral role in bridging Line of Business/Hub strategy and execution. Customer needs must be translated into offer concepts that can be delivered by agile teams and achieve measurable business outcomes
-Responsible for aligning the product strategy, vision and roadmap to the Line of Business/Hub's portfolio strategy and for maintaining alignment with the vision, budgets and guardrails. Defines and governs the their epic lean business cases.
- Create and communicate a compelling vision
- Manage flexible roadmaps
- Resolve issues at the level of the offer (v’s PO’s who resolve issues at Squad level)
- Define, create & maintain global reference tariff levels, ensuring offers are priced following value based pricing principles and portfolios are rationalized.
Connecting with the Customers
The agile offer manager engages directly with the customers throughout the offer lifecycle, ensuring their needs are built into the offer strategy and remain reflected in planned releases as the needs evolve over time.
-Involve the customer continuously: During agile offer development,the process requires ongoing planning, doing, checking, and iteration. The Agile Offer Manager fuels this continuous feedback loop by involving customer frequently in exploration activities and system demos during development.
- Customer-centric mindset: design thinking, customer empathy, customer at the center of decisions, design from customer perspective
- Responsible for value delivery to the client
Managing and Prioritizing the offer level backlog
The Agile Offer Marketing Owner supports the flow of work through the Offer backlog, ensuring that it always reflects the most current needs of customers.
-Guide feature creation: works with Squad to define the features
-Prioritize features: works with Squad to ensure understanding of prioritization
-Accept features - acting on the customer's behalf, evaluates completeness against acceptance criteria
-Definition of done from a customer perspective to be conveyed to the team
-Supports necessary architecture and enablers (rephrase to reflect whole lifecycle)
-Participate in Offer Team events: PI Planning, Inspect & Adapt, Demos, Approving PI Objectives and assessing Business Value
-Offer Data Assets: Ensure comprehensive development of ODA made available to the customers of each of the product line
Exploring Markets, Competition and Users
The Agile Offer Manager continuously explores, gathering qualitative and quantitative insights about market dynamics and user preferences. These insights inform the both the business and technical strategy
-Conducts market research to size Product Available Market (PAM)
-Applies market segmentation
-Understands end-users needs
-Performs competition Analysis
-Prepare battle card
-Develop SWOT analysis on specific product line by following market evolution and trends
Delivering Value
Agile Offer Management aims to release value with optimal market timing, balancing customer needs with business goals.
-Meet business goals: ensure offer is economically viable, and is operating within defined guardrails
-Build, follow-up and support business in collaboration with zones: Co-build or analyze business cases with zones
-Enable operations: support launch, etc
-Collaborate with Digital Marketing team to perform data analytics and content creation, sales acceleration through e-commerce channel
-Collaborate throughout the organization: GSC, commercial team, companion program, cross-functional teams, countries, solutions
