Provide general technical support for customers, particularly regarding technical information on products and application information during the pre-sales & after sales process. Take ownership and ensure customer satisfaction before closing the request. Detect all opportunities to serve the customer while addressing customer support requests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Achieves expert level in support of at least one assigned non-systems product group and familiarity and general back-up capability in supporting at least one other non-systems product group.
· Achieves familiarity and working knowledge of applications in assigned products.
· Assists others in the execution of field troubleshooting services to customers in assigned product groups.
· Conducts customer training on assigned products in the factory and assists others in the execution of training on assigned and other products for customers in the field.
· Answers first-line telephone help desk and written or Internet-based inquiries from customers on assigned product groups.
· Assists customers with operational and maintenance issues concerning the products.
· Analyzes failures or nonfunctioning hardware or software applications to identify problem area(s) and recommend corrective action.
· Provides pricing, part number, functions and features assistance.
· Maintains records of customer contact to allow for measurement and control of response time and effectiveness.
· Maintains log of problems so that recurring problems can be reported to product development.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assists customer in selection of product solutions for applications.
· Reports design, quality, reliability and maintenance problems or software bugs to design engineering/software engineering.
· Provides back-up telephone support for Order entry and for other product groups.
· Assists others with assigned technical tasks as part of project team.
Desired profile
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Entry level position.
• Familiarity with basic principles of electronics and electrical safety.
• Good basic bench skills and familiarity with instrumentation and operation of office computers.
• Good written and oral communications skills and some experience in a service role.
Education and Experience:
• Two year associate degree from a technical school or technical military MOS.
• One year experience in a technical job in production, repair, product or sales support. Self- motivator with an eagerness to assist others.
