Solution Architect - Data Centres - UK
Graduate job Potters Bar (Hertfordshire) Architecture / Town planning
Job description
Make the most of your energy in a career at Schneider Electric
Schneider Electric is the global specialist in energy management. We are passionate about delivering real and innovative solutions in energy management and energy efficiency, making energy safe, reliable, efficient, productive and green.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced solutions architect to join our growing Data Centres division. Reporting to the segment leader, you will be responsible for the design and development of innovative solutions across the Data Centre segment.
As the Data Centre solutions architect you will work closely with our sales teams and other internal stakeholders to bring differentiating value propositions to our Data Centre customers. You will achieve this by using your segment insight and technical knowledge to create innovative solutions that leverage the complete Schneider Electric offer portfolio.
You will have an expert knowledge of the Data Centre segment and experience of designing electrical, mechanical and software systems within the Data Centre space. The role will see you interpreting the client brief to create an offer that will exceed their expectations and give Schneider Electric the competitive advantage. These solutions will typically cover mechanical, electrical and software systems.
You will be involved in coordinating internal and external technical stakeholders during the design, tendering and project executions phases. You will also form part of the team that is responsible for the bid sign-off and approval process.
The successful candidate will have experience of designing electrical, mechanical or IT systems for Data Centres and will ideally be a trained mechanical or electrical engineer (BEng, MEng or similar) and registered with their appropriate industry trade body.
Direct industry experience of using Schneider Electric's products, systems or software would be advantageous but is not a pre-requisite. You will be expected to already have a solid understanding of power management and cooling systems, as well as how a datacenter operates.
As the subject matter expert, you will create an internal network of product and solution specialists that will support the Data Centres segment. You will also liaise with the global Data Centre team and provide technical and segment insight that can give Schneider Electric the competitive advantage.
As a Data Centre technology technical specialist you will be expected to meet clients on a regular basis. This would typically be to support a new business opportunity or a project delivery activity. You will therefore need to be personable and articulate and accustomed to meeting external stakeholders and clients regularly.
This role would suit someone who has worked as a building services engineer (mechanical/electrical) or similar/equivalent.
This role is home based but you will be expected to travel to client sites as well as company office locations throughout the UK&I zone.
Schneider Electric is well respected in the Data Centre sector with a good track record of successful projects and a strong customer base. Schneider Electric has industry leading solutions that are seen as highly innovative by many clients.
The role is a new opening that has been created due to excellent recent growth in the Data Centre segment.
This is a great opportunity to join Schneider Electric and power your career!
We recognize diversity and inclusion as source of strength and competitive advantage. Creativity and innovation spring from a mixture of backgrounds and viewpoints. At Schneider Electric, we believe that helping you as an individual to realise your full potential will help the company overall to achieve outstanding results.
