We have an exciting opportunity for Software & System Tester Co-op to join our Victoria BC based team. This position reports to the Software Verification and Validation Manager and is responsible for the software and system testing activities for globally developed new products.

The major objectives of the role will be;

· Conduct an analysis of the product, providing timely feedback

· Developing efficient test strategies in-line with project constraints

· Designing, implementing and executing tests

· Reporting on test activities

· Quickly and accurately report on product defects

· Assist in the continuous improvement of product quality and contribute to the product and planning decisions

· And, for those qualified, to help build out test systems: mock ups of energy management systems

· Be key part of an agile team from planning to execution to reporting

Desired profile

Qualifications :

Essential Qualifications:

·  Experience in software development in one or more of these technologies: C#.NET, ASP.NET / MVC, HTML/CSS/Javascript, Typescript, RESTful webservices, WCF, SQL Server
·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·  A keen eye for detail and a fussy but pragmatic approach to your work
·  Inquisitive nature; a strong desire to understand the finer details of how things work
·  Ability to self−manage time and tasks effectively
·  Self-motivated, with a positive attitude
·  Excellent interpersonal skills: team player, able to work well with others locally and remotely.

Desirable:

·  Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
·  Familiarity with power monitoring / energy management systems
·  Experience with multilayered architectures, object oriented design, mobile-first web application development, cloud technologies, real-time communication, cyber security, analytics.
