Security Construction Field Technician

Job description

The person in this position works independently to install commercial Access Control, CCTV/DVR, Intrusion Detection, Intercom, Security, and Infant Protection Systems. A positive attitude to provide exceptional customer satisfaction and a proven ability to produce high quality results is required. Other responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:
· Ability to understand and interpret job scope, drawings and points lists.
· Must be able to work independently to implement project as designed.
· Must be able to plan and pull wiring to meet job requirmeents and coordinate with other trades.
· Must be able to install/trim field devices and head end controls to meet job requirements.
· Thoroughly testing and documenting test results to meet unique customer requirements.
· Make corrections in field, if required, to ensure proper functionality and provide feedback to the construction project manager of problem identified.
· Suggest opportunities for improvements and upgrades at customer sites.
· Availability to work overtime to meet customer requirements.
· Availability to work “On Call” shifts throughout the year.
· Operating a company vehicle in accordance with company safety guidelines.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

· Position requires active membership in IBEW Local 134 as a Communications Electrician (C-Card).
· Ability to understand and troubleshoot large, campus-type IP-based integrated security systems.
· Requires use of hand tools, provided by employee.
· Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience and proficiency in the use and application of personal computers, including all Microsoft Office products, and basic networking skills.
· Knowledge of electronic test equipment, such as digital multimeters and cable fault finders.
· Willingness to learn, flexibility of schedule.
· Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 40 pounds.
· Must be able to work from ladder, lift, or bucket truck to perform duties.
· Must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
· Possession of a current PERC Card is required.
· Product certifications a plus!
