Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for someone with a passion for success, both on the job and beyond, to join our team as a Regional Sales Engineer in our OEM and System Integrator Team -Industrial Automation and Controls, in the North Wales and Borders area, to support the following postcode LL, CH, CW, SY, TF, WV, DY. This is a home-based role and you will need to live within easy reach of your territory.
Background:
Part of the world class company Schneider Electric, the Industry business unit is a leader in the design and manufacture of automation and control solutions. This ranges from Best in Class leading products such as contactors, push buttons, and enclosures through to advanced automation solutions such as PLCs, VSDs, SCADA, iPCs & HMIs and networking solutions for a diverse range of customers including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), control panel builders (CPBs),and system integrators (SIs), By utilising these offers and offers from our other business units, such as HV and LV Switchgear, transformers, UPS and others, Schneider Electric increases plant and production efficiencies and at the same time having more visibility and functionality over the control of the customer's manufacturing processes.
Your mission:
To increase the profitable sales of all applicable Schneider Electric products and services, to the relevant customer base, in this case the OEM's, System Integrators and Control Panel Builders, in line with Company objectives. You will work with all the other customer types and industry segments and activities to ensure strong interdependent links between teams ensuring increased customer satisfaction.
Your Responsibilities
• To actively promote applicable Schneider Electric products and services within the Original Equipment Manufacturer, System Integrator and Control Panel Builder target customer base, gaining orders, specification and standardisation;
• To define technical requirements with the customer and produce cost effective and deliverable solutions;
• Establish and implement dynamic sales plan in accordance with SalesForce.com- Area Planning and Company policy, objectives and strategy;
• In consultation with your line manager, constantly review your customer base so that the correct balance of target and reactive accounts is maintained;
• Working with internal colleagues in all business units, Marketing, Technical and Techno-commercial teams to ensure effective, regional and national team co-operation;
• Ensure that customer issues are owned and resolved by the most appropriate owners within the business units;
• Provide all relevant accurate information and reporting in a timely manner as required by line manager and feedback to marketing;
• To manage and maintain customer and partner records using the appropriate company tools;
• Actively monitor and report on the activity of competitors;
• Personal awareness of development needs in-line with knowledge and skills required for the role;
• Actively develop core competency in line with personal development plan;
• To support company initiatives and champion product competency development of other team members.
About you
You will have a broad knowledge of Automation, Industrial Controls and Electrical Distribution products. Ideally this experience has been gained within a matrix organisation where you will have demonstrated your ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders as well as your external customers. A key element of the role is ensuring that we delight our customers throughout the sales process.
HNC/HND or equivalent in electrical / electronic engineering or relevant experience is highly desirable, together with excellent IT skills.
