ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of Automatic Transfer Switches, Industrial Control Products, Load Banks, Power Control Systems, Services and Solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for a Regional Project Manager based out of the Houston, Dallas or New Orleans area.
Position Summary:
The Regional Project Managers will effectively manage the successful completion of Power Control Systems (e.g. Switchgear, Control, & Automation) projects from quote through substantial completion. Provide design assistance to Regional consulting Engineers and Field Sales personnel, and provide technical assistance between sales and factory for quotes and project management.
Responsibilities include:
· Providing interpretation of contract provisions, screening and processing customer inquiries to insure prompt handling.
· Monitoring progress of work performed under the contract and preparing periodic reports and estimates of completion date.
· May also participate in the development of sales proposals, negotiation of new contracts and re-negotiations of existing contracts, and provide support to the sales function.
· Provide support for all critical power solutions, with a primary focus on PCS, but also include Automatic Transfer Switches and SCADA/BMS systems.
· Typical duties include determining PCS designs from specifications, contract drawings, sketches, layouts, verbal instructions.
· Provides preliminary one-line diagrams and mechanical elevations and plan views.
· Evaluates the optimal combination of acquired information and contributing data to facilitate the development of the final design.
· Coordinates a wide variety of functions within the Company to provide liaison support during pre-delivery time including activities within order processing, customer relations and sales support.
· Provides single point contact for response to customer inquiries regarding status of order, investigates and resolves product, shipping, and scheduling problems.
· Discuss product capabilities in light of customer needs, provide special pricing for non-standard items, and provide customers with appropriate product literature.
· Informs sales function and customers of changes in product availability or delivery schedules.
· Directs Project Coordinators and Application Engineers as necessary.
· Be available to assist in spec writing and consulting engineering and customer presentations.
· Provide new product development direction to PCS and ATS marketing/product management.
· Provides DOP for factory testing as required. Provides MOP for PCS field modifications. Develops test scripts for field acceptance and NFPA testing as required.
· Coordinates Technicians in field with Engineering, in trouble shooting and resolving issues during start up
· Manage Margins
· More Frequent Travel to Field Offices / Factories / Customers as needed to support customers
· Develop and Publish Technical Presentations and Papers to Industry and Present them at all levels of customers (egd, contractors, engineers, owners) on demand
Desired profile
Qualifications :
· Capability using project management tools such as Microsoft Project
· Strong organizational, technical and communication skills
· Advanced Computer Proficiency
· Ability to work with Gant and Pert charts
· Must have valid driver's license & ability to drive to construction sites and management
· Contract administration and quotation development preferred.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
· BSEE preferred
· 2+ years' experience in project management, engineering or customer service Experience in electrical power industry a plus
· Knowledge of generator, switchgear systems, and/or PLC control/automation a plus
