Project Manager - BMS/BAS

Job description

This position is responsible for Project Management and Execution of data centre infrastructure management and building management / building automation system (BMS/BAS) projects in data centre facilities. Main roles include detailed project work breakdown structure and resource planning, scheduling and implementation. The role includes overseeing and coordinating the various teams in the detailed design/architecture, procurement of the equipment/ancillaries, project cost control including testing and commissioning of the system.

The candidate should be highly methodical and process oriented in his approach to project management and proficient in the use of project management software tools such as MS Project. He or she should have prior experience in project managing and coordinating the installation of BMS/BAS in high rise commercial, large shopping complex or industrial projects either as lead project manager or assistant project manager. The role requires a familiarity or knowledge of the various mechanical and electrical systems including air conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) systems. In addition the candidate should possess good communication and conflict resolution

Desired profile

EDUCATION – MINIMUM REQUIRED LEVEL:

· Diploma or degree in either electrical or mechanical engineering

· Certification in Project Management from PMI or equivalent is preferred.

· Some technical training including Generator Systems, HT & LV Systems, Large UPS Systems, Chiller Systems, Fire Protection Systems etc would be added advantage.

EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED:

· 3 to 5 years proven experience as Project Manager in BMS/BAS implementation in high rise commercial buildings or large industrial projects.

· Additional 3 -5 years experience in construction projects as site Electrical, instrumentation or Mechanical engineer

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 1 – REQUIRED:

· Knowledge in project finance, cost control and resource allocation.

· Strong knowledge in Project Management process and methodology.

· Proficient in the use of project management software tools such as MS Project or Primavera.

· Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio or CAD, e-mail systems, Microsoft Project and Web based applications

· Possess:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills/interpersonal communication skills

- Ability to read and understand technical blueprints and diagrams

- Posses past experience in cost avoidance, savings, able to counter-propose customer with the best efficient & economical solutions in consideration of constraints

- Knowledge of local Installation Standard, Good Practice & Authorities Requirement

- Ability to deliver a project using a proven Project Management methodology
