Job description

MAIN TASKS

Mission / primary purpose of the function

The project team based in Singapore is developping communication modules for connecting Input-Output Modules to controllers and Input-Output Modules. The Project Design Leader is responsible for the whole R&D development. This means he has full Functional authority on the development (electronic & firmware & mechanical).

Main tasks

Assumes responsibility for management of the technical team, in terms of technical decisions, product cost, performance, quality, workload, expenses and planning, in collaboration with resource managers..
Guarantees product / solution performance and robustness, through simulation, prototypes and testing.
Accountable for engineering quality and contributes strongly to cost targets,
Responsible for the deliveries of all technical documents (related to quality, cost and feature)
• Produces the Product and technical specifications considering project team inputs (especially
marketing), to fulfill the customer requirements.
• Manage the R&D contract book commitments (Product Specifications..)
• Manages the R&D project planning, reports on the development progress & escalates to Project management when required
Assesses and update the resource plan and expenses with the R&D managers.
• Has authority for people allocated within project organization
• Participates to shared resources allocation
• Leads and motivates the Project R&D team
Manage the decision process & main action plans
• Ensures the technical decision are taken by the good experts
• Accelerate decision process & Arbitrates on pending decisions in accordance with project objectives and decisions made.
Prepares manufacturing with Industrialization/manufacturing implementation
teams.
Collaborates effectively with other functions within the project like Architect, Sofware PDL, purchasing and Industrialization.

Interfacing with Project Manager, Validation, Quality, Purchasing, Industrialization and Marketing.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

PROFILE NEEDED

Formation

Higher Degree (Technical University) in Electrical Engineering, Master degree

Expertise / experience

Senior engineer with Strong experiences in leading design to cost products development where it's key to challenge & optimize several disciplines (Marketing, R&D, Industrialization, Purchasing)
Confirmed experience (3 to 5 years) in communication protocol implementation:
• Ethernet/IP is a Must
• Modbus/TCP and CANopen would be a plus
Knowledge of MachineSolutions products (Software&System, Controllers, IOs, Fieldbuses) would be a plus
Confirmed ability to work successfully in an international experience
Master Multi-Technology (Firmware and Hardware)

Strong team player, ability to work in an international and multi-sites environment
Be rigorous (schedule follow up, risks…).

Master the complex situation, breakdown and changes.
