PES Expert - APAC CoE

Job description

- Need to strengthen the execution of EcoStruxure PES projects @ APAC and be considered as a Subject Matter Expert for APAC PES Centre of Excellence

- Highly experienced professional engineer with the capability to provide high level technical consulting services - system and architectural design of PES solutions.

- With this regional responsibility, APAC countries will look for assistance with some of the most complex customer demands. Must be capable to handle these demands, work with L3, country engineers and system integrators to develop solutions which meet our customer's expectations

- Have system, software implementation experience, have achieved a high level of expertise, manage a high level of autonomy and decision making aligned to the mission.

- Expertise on the following

- Operational Management (Citect SCADA, Historian, MES, Batch, Asset management, Alarm management, Edge computing, AVEVA / Wonderware software suite)

- System Software (Unity, PES, Edge connectors, virtualization)

- Controls and Connectivity (PAC's, Industrial networking, IIoT)

- Cyber-security (system protection)

- Field Devices (Motor Control, iMCC, Instrumentation, Power meters)

- Segment expertise - Metals, Mining, Minerals, Water, Food & Beverages

- Responsibilities in the execution of a major project

- Local competence development in the context of a project

- Fluent use of English and ability to convince our customers

- This is a high travel position with up to 50% travel required within the field of work

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

- Single point of contact for APAC delivery teams for all PES projects starting from Bidding, Architecture review, Design, Implementation, FAT and SAT.

- Collaborate with the country organisations during the opportunity pre-sales and project execution phases.

- Ensure that EcoStruxure PES systems are specified, correctly proposed, designed, developed and commissioned to a high level of quality that meets the customer's requirements

- Contribute to order booking with the technical deployment of EcoStruxure PES systems by validating technical bidding documents, promoting our system offers to End Users and System Integrators, leading cross-border resources in the context of regional projects

- Maintain our technical advantage and our connections to the Industry leaders through participation to critical projects and innovation

- Promote EcoStruxure PES architecture technical benefits.

- Assist PA Delivery in the execution of the Major clients PES projects

- Provide knowledge transfer to PA Delivery, Schneider country organisations and system integrators through delivery of expert level design & engineering, mentoring and coaching Schneider local technical resources.

- Assist in the creation of technical material, technical guides, whitepapers, knowledge based articles for Engineering team's usage.

- Supervise Installation and commissioning activities of PES projects at customer site

- Transfer knowledge gained during the execution of critical projects to PA delivery, mentoring and coaching our engineers, distribute application notes and success stories

Desired profile

Qualifications :

• A minimum of 10 – 15 years of successful experience in a related industry supporting Proposal, Engineering and Services of Analyzers domain

• Previous technical experience on PES project implementation experience

• Must be able to meet the travel demands of the position, including making customer visits, as necessary

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics / Instrumentation or chemical engineering. Other engineering disciplines may be acceptable based on work experience

• Have extensive automation systems engineering experience to understand the needs of application solutions.

• Maintain deep understanding of the capabilities of one or more of the EcoStruxure disciplines:

o Operate & Optimise Software (SCADA, MES, Historian, Batch, Unity)

o System Software (PES, libraries, Maintenance adviser, asset management)

o Controls and Connectivity, cyber-security

o Field Devices, iMCC, Drives, Instrumentation

• Maintain and develop deep understanding of the process control architectures of one or more of the Industry segments:

o Metals, Mining, Minerals

o Water, Waste Water

o Food & Beverages

o Advanced Process control

o Energy management, Overall Equipment Efficiency

• Strive to continually expand technical knowledge of the EcoStruxure PES System and architectures

• Be recognised both internally and externally as a system and software architecture expert with Schneider EcoStruxure systems

• Provide coaching and mentoring to APAC Engineering teams

• Support the training organization at the certification of technical staff by training the trainers and certification training contents

• Form close working relationships with Country technical sales and project personnel in order to provide timely and accurate technical contribution on opportunities and projects.

• Provide product, technology and system expertise to the country based ESx Architect, SAE's.

• Develop conceptual system architectures to meet the customer's requirements

• Deliver portions of technical proposals for tenders, demonstrations, presentations, and proof of concept projects and deliver them to country engineering team

• Critical Project Execution Support - Gather, define, and document system requirements through the running of end user requirement sessions and system integrator workshops with the local System Architect

• Assist system architects to ensure the end user requirements are aligned with EcoStruxure system capabilities and represented in the developed system.

• Assist the system integrator or Industry Leader during project execution with design reviews, design of critical portions, resolve issues with a focus to high quality implementations.

• Assist during Factory Acceptance Tests to promote quality and customer acceptance.

• Write application notes and success stories
