Job description
Purpose of the position:
Schneider Electric R&D Systems is in the process of developing its enterprise PDM Platform using PTC Windchill technology. The PDM Platform will be initially deployed to users in 2017 with new functionality progressively developed and deployed into early 2018.
R&D Systems' will internally perform the PDM Platform Run and Maintain responsibilities.
There are two key goals for this position: 1) the PDM Platform must be maintained at no less than one Version of that commercially available from PTC and 2) the system must be maintained at a level of 85% OOTB functionality.
Responsibilities & duties
Responsibility 1. Work closely with the PDM platform owner to define and execute the product backlogs. Work with team to define the technical specifications and review the solutions with platform owner and Business Analysts
Responsibility 2: co-ordinate with Windchill developers , business analysts and platform owners to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain PDM platform.
Responsibility 3: Package and support deployment of releases. Develop, refine, and tune integrations between applications. Analyse and resolve technical and application problems.
Responsibility 4: Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
Responsibility 5 : work on the POC and pre-study activities of future technologies ( Example :- ThingWorx )
Responsibility 6 : Implementation of best practices to support continuous integration.
Responsibility 7 : Ability to understand business requirements and propose several solutions including mock up if required .
Responsibility 8 : Implement the integrations architecture propose by solution architect .
Responsibility 9 : Co-ordinate with PTC on the Schneider business requirements and push to get the requirements implemented on priority .
Responsibility 10 : Own the root cause analysis for critical issues related to application and define a corrective & preventive action plan . Communication to the business on the action .
Experience & Key skills
Essentials:
· 15+ years' experience, with emphasis as Windchill Developer Technical Architect , project life-cycle management systems, product data management, and associated systems .
· Minimum 3+ years of experience in Windchill customization & configuration (version 10 and above)
· Strong Leadership while coordinating with the Run & Maintain Team as well as the Business Representatives
· Experience in use of Windchill PLM and PDMLink .
· Knowledge and use of Java, JSP, JavaScript, J2EE, XML for modification of Windchill ,Oracle, SQL
· Candidate must know BOM concepts & PLM-ERP integration concepts. Should be able to handle implementations single handedly.
· Be able to produce high quality deliverables for Functional Specification and Test Cases.
· Capability to design mock-up and demonstrate to the Business.
Desirable:
· Experience in developing interfaces to Windchill.
· Proficiency with Query Builder and other reporting tools.
· CAD Development (Pro/E/ Creo/SolidWorks).
· Good knowledge of Config management and Continuous integration tools like GIT , Gerrit , Jenkins or any other equivalent tools .
