Operations Manager
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading a team of Project and Program Managers driving projects across North America focused on Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring (EPMS) within the Data Center segment. The candidate would be responsible for overall project success of BMS and EPMS deployments. The candidate would coordinate with peers to staff the engineering and field deployment functions as part of the project plan. The candidate would also be responsible for ensuring financial success of these projects in terms of budget and gross margin tracking. The ideal candidate would have 10+ years in engineering and program managing BMS type deployments within complex buildings. Also, he or she would be required to have 3+ years of supervisory experience.
Responsible for portfolio management ensure all projects are executed within company & customer expectations (on time, on budget, high quality). Maintain net zero GM variance on assigned project portfolio. Work with Project Managers to identify project risk and help oversee conflict resolution.
Coordinate resources and budgets as needed, including scheduling and establishing needs (Department Manpower). Plan effectively by forecasting the need for equipment, materials, personnel, revenue, and job costs for all phases of a project. Manage revenue, expenses and cash management for projects across the portfolio
Education/Experience Required:
· Four (4) year Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience
· Project Management Professional certification is a plus
· 10+ years of project management experience deploying HVAC mechanical & electrical systems
· 3+ years of supervisory experience
Key Responsibilities:
· Working with sales personnel to review & validate estimates being provided to the customer
· Track progress and health status of projects over the entire project deployment lifecycle
· Mentor staff of project & program managers for good project management practices such as schedules, resource plans, meeting notes, action tracking and lessons learned
· Resource planning across all projects
· A point of escalation for challenging projects
· Establish project management procedures to constantly improve the quality of execution across all disciplines of the team
· Other duties may be assigned
Skills & Abilities:
· Basic knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) specifications
· Basic knowledge of networks along with communication protocols
· Basic understanding of mechanical cooling technology such as Chillers, Direct Expansion
· Experience with Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRACs) for mixed room air and hot/cool isle containment with a Data Center environment is a plus
· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project

· Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
· Self-motivated with strong organizational skills
· Good track record of obtaining results with minimal supervision in a fast-paced team environment
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Good interpersonal team skills for teamwork, respect, courtesy, tact, and discretion
· Potential to accommodate domestic travel up to 20%
