Position Description and Primary Responsibilities:

This is a specific editing and posting position that works within the DTN content editing team with a primarily focus on markets-related content. That content includes daily analysis from DTN analysts, market commentary, columns and blogs, with special responsibilities for editing and posting daily proprietary strategies.

Editor's primary responsibility is to bring a layman's eye to the technical analysis and other markets commentary. This includes looking at the various markets content and, with the help of the editing team, tying pieces together through links, social media and timing to help DTN customers get the most complete view of market news and our take on that news.

Editor will work closely with the analyst team, helping them present their content in intellectually accessible ways to a wide range of clientele, from those with sophisticated marketing knowledge to farmers venturing in to commodities marketing for the first time.

This will take general knowledge of market and futures marketing terms and concepts, and above all a desire to learn more about those concepts. Should be familiar with technical as well as fundamental commodity analysis, and eventually become familiar with the DTN Six Factor analysis.

Will work closely with the editing team to edit additional copy and content as needed.

Participate in daily editorial meeting to provide information critical to direction to overall DTN writing and editing staff.

Desired profile

Critical Knowledge Areas:

·  Demonstrated skills in journalistic editing and familiarity with Content Management Systems and working with reporters and other content providers. Strong interest in covering the details of those markets and explaining them to customers.
·  Understanding of and interest in commodity market tools and terminology (basis, spreads, options, hedging)
·  Ability to work closely with DTN analyst team and editing team.
·  Editing and rewriting skills to improve markets articles written by reporters, freelancers
