Field Service Technician - Prince George / Quesnel area - 004VPX
Our Services team is hiring Field Service Technician in the Prince George / Quesnel area.
In this role, you will perform duties associated with the installation, testing, diagnostics, repair and upgrades, and maintenance on electrical distribution equipments and at the same time act as a business developer to establish and maintain relationships with customers. This position reports directly into the Field Service Manager.

W hat do you get to do in this position?
Perform pre-site surveys, installation, testing and commissioning, repairs, preventative maintenance and field modification (upgrades) of company manufactured, as well as third party manufactured equipment as assigned. Including but not limited to:
LV & MV Breaker retrofits
LV & MV testing and commissioning
MV & HV Terminations
MV Protection and control
LV Drives
Metering solutions
Transformer testing
Capacitor bank maintenance and testing
Bus duct installation and repair
Switchboard installation, maintenance and repair
Develop and maintain business relationships with customers to promote and support Schneider Electric Services and products to meet annual growth target
Prospect, identify, and qualify potential sales opportunities.
Educate customers on the application advantages of Schneider Electric products/solutions/services and how they meet customer's needs.
Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction through increased availability/access, customer responsiveness, clean order process, tracking and expediting orders, and following up on accounts as necessary.
Maintain post-sale relationship/follow up. Cultivate, develop and maintain long-term customer relationships
Complete all administrative responsibilities on all work activities including field service reports, expense reports, preventative maintenance and startup data sheets and daily time card completion.
Provide 24/7/365 telephone support for customers.
Meet annual goals set forth by Management (utilizations, work completions, Sales target etc.)
Comply with company's safety procedures and policies, ensure no hazardous incident takes place
Desired profile
Qualifications :
T his job might be for you if:
Associate's Degree in a technical field from an accredited school and/or equivalent experience in a technical field. Journeyman Red Seal Electrician Certificate or Electrical Engineering Technologist / Engineer
Experience: Five to Seven years of field service repair, upgrade and customer service experience within the Electrical Distribution service field. Electro-mechanical or other electronics related equipment knowledge a strong asset. 3+ years as a ticketed Journeyman desired. Experience working on utilities, mining & mineral, oil & gas sites is an asset. Experience in scouting for new business and developing new business relationships with customers is best
Skills Set:
Computer literacy with standard business applications; Salesforce experience is an asset
Knowledge on quote and proposal creation process is an asset
Analytical and troubleshooting skills are a must
Strong business acumen, with great organizational, communication and presentation skills
Superior customer relations and interaction skills
Complete competence at utilizing test and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, temperature probes, and other electronic test devices.
Characteristics include self-starter, team player, punctual, personal and professional integrity, trainable, problem solver, organized, professional appearance, flexible, customer oriented, and safety oriented.
Capable of reciting and displaying appropriate safety techniques and practices associated with job requirements
Ability to write business reports, correspondence, effectively present information and respond to customer questions.
Willingness to grow as an individual and part of a team
Good understanding of single phase and three-phase circuit theory; analog and digital electronic circuit theory
Must work well in team environment as well as independently
Physical Requirements:
May be required to perform the following tasks, but not limited to: repetitive lifting/carrying; pushing/pulling; standing; climbing; squatting; bending; kneeling; or driving extended distances.
Ability to lift up-to 75lbs.
Frequent travel to customer sites is required
