Job description

SUMMARY:

This position is an entry-level engineering position responsible for performing entry-level energy, mechanical and electrical engineering tasks.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the primary duties.

Energy Engineering

· Participate in performing preliminary and detailed energy engineering studies
· Assist in performing energy-use baseline analysis, including utility rate simulations
· Assist in generating baseline energy models and performing energy savings calculations
· Assist in preparing technical audit reports
· May assist in sales presentations

Mechanical and Electrical Engineering

· Prepare mechanical or electrical systems plans, specifications, and study reports to accomplish the goals and objectives of the projects. Mechanical systems include HVAC, building automation, plumbing, chilled water, heating water and steam generation and distribution, natural gas, medical gas, compressed air and fire protection systems. Electrical Systems include power generation and distribution, lighting, fire alarm, lightning protection and low-voltage systems.
· Provide support of technical decision-making for engineering, in conjunction and coordination with the lead engineer and project manager.
· Assist in the development of plans, specifications and reports in accordance with established company procedures.
· Prepare letters, memos, and other routine correspondence and documentation in accordance with established company procedures.
· Perform field investigation, as required.
· Support construction administration for projects, as assigned.
· Comply with project plan to ensure scope, schedule, budget and expectations (SSBE) corresponds with the team expectations.

· Ensure conformance to office and industry design standards.

· Provide input to lead engineer and project manager during initial and subsequent design phases.

· Coordinate and prioritize workload to ensure project deadlines are met.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients.

EDUCATION:



· Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Energy Engineering



EXPERIENCE:



· Zero years relevant work experience



SKILLS & ABILITIES:



· Limited understanding of building systems

· Basic verbal and written communication skills including, but not limited to, listen effectively, and solicit input from others.

· Basic ability to use Microsoft Office programs including but not limited to, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

· Basic organizational skills including, but not limited to, the ability to handle multiple demands and assignments, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently, and the ability to manage resource procurement and utilization.
