Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer

Job description

1. To lead / guide / partitioning of task among Mechanical Design Engineer in the full cycle of mechanical architecture development,

· Work at the level of re-usable core functional blocks, or at the level of product integration
· To ensure product performance to fulfill technical specification
· To ensure development process is in accordance to Schneider Project Management Process (PMP)
· To ensure achieving expected level of product development efficiency in term of quality, lead time & cost

2. To provide the mechanical technical specifications of new products and/or product design evolution with the marketing people combining several technologies to fulfill the marketing requirements

3. To clarify/negotiate/challenge the mechanical technical requirement to ensure its clarity, feasibility, competitiveness in the market (e.g: marketing, industrialization, purchasing etc.)

4. To negotiate / propose alternative choices of technical solutions to the project & management in order to meet the objectives of the given assignment

5. To provide technical status progress update to the project & management

6. To provide technical expertise / consultancy on mechanical architecture to mechanical design team, continuous engineering team, marketing team, product quality team and all other working party

7. To provide support and training needed to the plant during initial start-up of production

8. To actively participate and contribute to innovation activities

Desired profile

Qualifications :

- At least 6 years' experience in mechanical design & development

- Having design background in plastic product design, sheet metal design and die-casting design

- Highly proficient in Computer Aided Design and Engineering (High Creo proficiency required, Solid Works, Unigraphics and Auto-CAD are good for supplemental experience), in order to model into 2D/3D/Assembly as mandatory requirement in mechanical design process

- Open-minded and willingness to experiment within acceptable boundaries and creative mind to bring novel solutions into design and problem-solving

- Must be able to present & demonstrate scientific facts related to the design. E.g: calculation, simulation, science paper, experimental information etc to justify the design feasibility and possess skills on applying technical mitigation plan when necessary

- Familiar with analytical tool like tolerance analysis, mold-flow analysis, creepage & clearance analysis, structural analysis etc

- Able to operate various tools/equipment for development like force gauge, high precision measurement equipment etc

- Must be able to provide guidance and motivation to a group of mechanical engineers to work in a project or continuous engineering requests in order to achieve the objectives

- Must be able to read/write & communicate in English

- Customer-oriented, independent, fast-learner

- Willing to travel to Batam

- Experience in one or more of the following fields is an added advantage to this position:

· Mechanical product design experience on industrial grade product, electromechanical product, optical/lighting product, plastics material selection

· Proven experience on 3D printing

· Familiar with FMEA/FTA

. Familiar with lens simulation, magnetic flux simulation

. Familiar with design data management process such as PDM
