SUMMARY OF JOB
Technical duties include writing and executing qualification and validation documents for UPS and Power Distribution products, reviewing and analyzing data, adhering to domestic standard and regulations, incorporating continuous improvements into qualification and validation activities. Provides leadership in maintaining electrical system design, enhancing product performance and failure analysis and writing customer reports with some travel to customer sites. Responsible to ensure project completion in the sustaining department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Continuous quality improvement, design verification, specification, and qualification of three phase UPS and power distribution systems, using hardware development tools and facilities.
Spend 80% of the time in the lab for validation and verification test. Set up the system for testing in the lab. Heavy electrical work; connecting & reconnecting cables at times.
Failure analysis reports to enhance product performance or resolve quality and application issues.
Maintain all phases of existing product design necessary to specify, optimize and test large 3 phase UPS systems to achieve high product reliability.
Analysis for complex product and application issues at the customer site by test including site visits
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
Develop and maintain product technical specifications, quality and test specifications.
Participate in stabilizing new products in manufacturing and transfer to the sustaining department.
Support new product design verification to ensure compliance with technical speculations and applicable standards.
Support compliance engineer to meet product EMI and safety standards
Travel to site supporting Service/Field Engineer occasionally.
Desired profile
EXPERIENCE
· 2 years experience with design and sustaining of single and three-phase power distribution systems.
· 2 years of product testing and designing verification of power distribution, UPS and battery systems.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
· Ability to communicate with a variety of personnel and groups
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
· Highly effective technical leadership and mentoring skills
· Demonstrated experience with power distribution design using breakers, transformers, cables, switches and monitoring circuits
· Demonstrated knowledge of control systems, including local and remote monitoring of electro-mechanical control systems for power distribution and monitoring
· Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory compliance standards
· Creative problems-solving and diagnostic/troubleshooting abilities
