Job description

BI & Analytics Service Delivery & Operations is the core team within the Data InSights, Advisory & Analytics organization responsible for realization of our B.I. & Analytics Service Delivery while supporting the global users of the analytics platform.

The BI & Analytics Delivery & Operations E2E BI and Analytics Developer & Architect is responsible for 2 main streams:

Note: Initial expected time dedication is forecasted between brackets [] but this will transition to a balanced effort between both streams.

1. Analytics Industrialization with continuous delivery of business facing applications covering from project management, to functional expertise, technical Architect design, development, testing and UAT.

Main responsibilities for Delivery being:

1.1. Project Management / Functional Expertise [25%] :

o Having or acquiring the knowledge to match business needs with appropriate technologies, with an ability to negotiate, provide alternatives or reject business requests if no suitable technological solution available.

o Having responsibility for the efficient application of current and appropriate emerging technologies in the development of quality products within the constraints of time and budget.

o Ability to avoid traditional functional specification approach, while realizing a creative response to the business need.

o Awareness and ability to work with both agile & iterative waterfall methodologies.

o Refine the response to the business challenge/opportunity, through functional expertise, liaising closely with the business, contributing to prototyping and documenting KPI definitions.

o Ensuring - prior to indications of commitment to the business -

§ technical expert input from a realization perspective.

§ project/program/service planning input from a scheduling perspective.

o Performing test of solution prior to UAT, liaising with the Delivery Development resources.

o Release documentation and promotion, including Release eBulletin .

o Realizing (& exceeding) our SLAs and Service Delivery KPI targets with post go-live follow up of Application usage.

o Liaising with the business to ensure a functional understanding of

§ Support issues raised through our ticketing system &

§ Change Requests to existing implementations, documenting the need for the technical team

1.2. BI Architecting / Development [70%]:

o Collaborating with functional teams including, but not limited to, requirement reviews to define solutions or alternatives according to the business need and technological capabilities/limitations.

o Influencing technical and business members at different levels of the organization to ensure data models align to strategic objectives, considering current need and future potential.

o Promoting BI benefits to the organization and usage of our tools to relevant business groups.

o Following all standard System Development Life Cycle processes and producing required documentation.

o Producing guidelines and standards for B.I. implementation for both ETL & Reporting usage, manageability and maintainability within the organization.

o Executing analysis, planning, right technology selection, prototyping, designing, developing, deploying, and assisting in end-user training of BI solutions to the user community for projects, changes and maintenance & evolutions.

o Providing leadership, technical guidance, training and mentoring to others in areas of acquired/assigned expertise, including external consultant partners – knowledge sharing is key to our success.

o Staying abreast of industry standard and cutting edge technologies through whitepapers, vendor-based collaboration and literature, and technical newsgroups – sharing the research with all members of the Enterprise B.I. team and extended community through our internal collaboration tools.

2. User support for the end user community distributed in our 4 main platforms. Central to this role is the provision of technical leadership in resolving B.I. & Analytics Support issues, and being the Expert Advisor to lead the team in operational efficiency and best practice paradigms.

Main responsibilities for Support being [5%] :

o Post go live support – via ticketing tool - of the full Enterprise B.I. & Analytics platforms' capabilities – irrespective of technology.

o The first contact point of our end users globally in run mode – optimal communication, resolution and issue closure.

o Operational availability of our evolving technology portfolio, with a deep understanding of the various technical components/features of each technology and proactive trending of weaknesses/'areas to watch' with proposals to Platform Owner of evolutions required.

o Realizing (& exceeding) our SLAs and Service Delivery KPI targets by defining those KPIs, with daily monitoring and benchmarking on both quantitative and qualitative measures.

o Once identified, managing upgrades/evolutions end to end on the portfolio of technologies.

o Creation and Maintenance of the knowledge store of operational issues, trends, activities.

o Applying Problem Management techniques to reduce recurring incidents and requests.

Desired profile

Qualifications :

·  Bachelors Degree in Computer Science with MBA / Masters Degree in Business Discipline, or vice versa.
·  3+ years' experience of the full software development lifecycle on BI projects and support experience.
·  Experience in following components (or similar):
·  BI tools: Tableau, Oracle Business Intelligence, Birst, PowerBI…
·  ETL tools: Informatica PowerCenter, PL/SQL, ODI…
·  Data bases: Oracle 12c, Redshift, PostgreSQL, Exasol,…
·  Data Warehousing/B.I. related certifications a plus.
·  Proven ability and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly.
·  Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written; excellent presentation skills.
·  Ability to effectively move forward on tasks even with ambiguous or changing requirements.
·  Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment in a global context.
·  Willingness and ability to train and teach others.
·  Ability to facilitate meetings and follow up with resulting action items.
·  Ability to self-manage, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
·  Strong systems/process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, organization skills and problem-solving skills.
·  The desire for growth and innovation, to bring rapid solutions to business challenges/opportunities.
·  Strong consultancy orientation and experience, with the ability to form collaborative, productive working relationships across diverse teams and cultures is a must.
