Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for the right person to join our team as Contract Engineer, working within our Leeds Medium Voltage Energy Equipment Centre (MVEC)

We are happy to consider candidates with a technical background and an electrical engineering qualification with a strong aptitude for customer services, or an individual with strong customer service background and an interest in working within an electrical manufacturing/technical environment.

Mission:

To process, administer and co-ordinate customer orders from receipt to despatch, ensuring contracts are delivered on time and to customer specification, within budget.

Responsibilities:

Proactively manage the contract through from order receipt to invoice issue and any payment disputes that arise from the contract.

Review new order to ensure that the contractual elements are agreed with customer and agree any additional contractual requirements within agreed timeline. Ensure where appropriate order is fulfilled using standard equipment.

Where appropriate, determine resource required to complete the contract.

Identify the necessary information to execute the contract and issue accurate and timely instructions to relevant departments to ensure equipment is designed/built/procured to the agreed specification and satisfy any issues that arise during the contract.

Liaise with customer regarding all elements of the contracts including approvals, variation instructions, delivery, site work, site visits, customer inspections and/or maintenance of ongoing bulk contracts.

Prepare and submit contract documentation as appropriate, ie electrical scheme/wiring diagrams/O&M Manuals/Export documentation/risk assessments.

Desired profile

Essential:

Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal

Proven ability to work to deadlines and at pace

Ability to prioritise effectively with excellent time management skills

Collaborative approach and able to build strong internal and external relationships

PC literate

Presentation skills

Desirable:

Understanding of Commercial T&Cs

Ability to read and understand electrical drawings

Driving licence.

HND or Degree level qualification in electrical or mechanical

engineering

Understanding of testing and commissioning practices

Experience within a similar role.
