ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of automatic transfer switches, industrial control products and power control systems, services and solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for an Associate Product Manager in Florham Park NJ.

Position Summary:

Associate Product Managers support product lifecycle activities that are vital to the success of power switching and controls products, including product planning & development, competitive analyses, growth programs, pricing strategy, and ongoing product support. They work under direction of the Director of Product Management to manage existing switch products and new product development programs across both electronics and mechanical engineering teams.

Job Responsibilities:

· Perform market and financial analyses and assessments to help develop and implement product plans for all transfer switches and related products
· Helps to develop strategy and tactics to achieve product objectives
· Works with the Director of Product Management to forecast sales and set growth objectives
· Analyzes product line performance matrix as guided and verify consistency of data with latest projections
· Works with engineering, marketing and field sales to develop product design specifications, marketing material and user manuals
· Supports project teams involving activities for product improvements, product rationalization and new product development as dictated by changes in customer requirements, feedback from quality assurance, and competitive actions
· Analyzes warranty costs and product non-conformance events as needed
· Communicates product knowledge and delivers technical assistance with field sales offices and customers
· Analyzes competitive product offerings and develop ASCO literature to help our field offices compete and maintain market position
· Promotes ASCO products through training, sales call assistance, presentations, and assists in the development of literature, displays and advertising. This activity includes supporting development of product catalog brochures, product updates and direction on maintenance of web site information.
· Provide direction to Application Engineers on new and current product variations
· Some business travel may be required to visit customers, consulting engineers, and field offices and to participate at trade shows to promote growth of the product lines

Desired profile

Qualifications :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Familiarity with transfer switches and/or backup power market
·  Ability to learn and become the product expert for ASCO transfer switches
·  Understand business principles - profitability, gross margins, cost analysis
·  Understand marketing principles - product positioning, pricing strategies, channel management
·  Ability to travel a minimum of 5% of time domestically


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

·  BS in engineering required; mechanical and/or electrical engineering preferred. Other engineering majors may apply.
·  Knowledge of product management role and/or new product development activities
·  3+ years prior experience in a product development or product management support role
·  Interest in business principles and future pursuit of MBA
