Job description
Mission:
To assist with the technical responsibility for the application and support of Schneider automation products and solutions. Provide product differentiation and innovative solutions to our internal and external customers, adding credible competence to the Industry business unit.
Responsibilities:
1. Achieving Sales through:
·Prime route to sale in areas of highly technical consultative applications
·Preparation of technical presentations and demonstrations
·Identification of product differentiators
·Adaptation of the Schneider offer to the customer application
·System architecture design
·Production of Functional Design Specifications
·Technical consultancy
·Total system design
·On-going dedicated support
·Standards and legislation compliant solutions
2. Creating Segment wide solutions by:
·Identifying strengths and weaknesses of =S= products and their application
·Recognition of transportable solutions
·Production of standard specifications solutions, demos and presentations to target segment sales engineers.
3. Effective Technical Product Marketing through:
·Evaluation and verification of product technical performance
·Beta testing of hardware and software in partnership with manufacturing unit
·Direct communication with the manufacturing units regarding any technical product issues or concerns.
·Creation of product documentation, application notes and launch materials.
·Design and build of demonstration equipment for exhibitions, presentations etc.
4. Provide customer support by:
·Advising on the choice and application of =S= equipment
·Offering a tailored design service as applicable
·Providing a high technical level telephone support service
·Frontline defense and promotion of =S= products and interests.
·Production of application notes to reduce common problems.
·Focussing additional =S= resources such as training, after sales as appropriate.
·Interaction with R&D and manufacturing to advise on, and resolve issues
·Site visits to resolve complex issues
·First line telephone after sales function
·First line after sales function on Legacy and specialist products
5. Identification of chargeable project opportunities on the basis of:
·Strategic requirement
·Learning opportunity
·Market retention/extension
·Aid to sale
And using the following :
·Production of Functional Design Specifications, System specifications and parts lists
·Risk analysis of company exposure
·Risk analysis of safety and legislation issues
·Usage of project management tools such as Scopes of work, acceptance criteria, Gantt charts, program development documentation.
·Completion and maintenance of Technical Construction File.
6. Working to achieve world leading system and software design by:
·Providing innovative, ring-fenced system and software designs
·Producing and commissioning demonstration systems
·When necessary working as part of a global strategic team to fulfil a global market need.
·Producing operation, maintenance and training documentation.
·Work with end users, OEMs and System Integrators to implement SE solution
7. To perform a product owner function including:
·Beta testing and Product Validation
·Production of training materials
·Assessment of hardware and software and documentation requirements of team
·To control revision of software and documentation within department
·To liaise with marketing for product launches and training
·To manage product issues and DMDIs to keep department informed of issues.

Desired profile
The ideal candidate will be educated to GCSE Level or equivalent; we are looking for a minimum of grade A-C in Maths, English and Science. You will have excellent IT Skills and good interpersonal and communication skills.
