PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Our SAP cloud platform kubernetes team is adopting the kubernetes open-source system for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. They are providing solutions to run, integrate, orchestrate and federate kubernetes clusters in various infrastructures for a variety of enterprise use cases.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

We expect you to have some first hands-on experience in cloud computing, distributed systems or container technology and being excited by the potential and new possibilities these technologies offer. You have strong developer skills and analytical acumen and proficiency in Go, Java or node.js and strong experience with Unix/Linux. You will work in the domain of Kubernetes and container technologies and contribute to innovative solutions at large scale in real life use cases.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

·  Student (f/m) - preferred field(s) of study: computer science or related engineering discipline
·  Computer skills: extended Linux/Unix knowhow and mastery of one of Java, Go, node.js, in depth knowledge in distributed systems and distributed storage
·  Technology: experience with Docker, Kubernetes (or other container schedulers), preferably basic understanding of common Big Data stacks such as Apache Spark, Apache Kafka etc.
·  Infrastructure: experience with one IaaS offering out of of OpenStack, AWS, Azure or GCP and corresponding tooling
·  Language skills: German, English
·  Soft skills: excellent communication and interpersonal skills
·  Others: will to use, learn and contribute to open source
