ROLE DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an individual to help with monitoring and controlling open source and commercial 3rd party software intake across SAP’s software engineering groups by executing code audits using our source code scanning technologies.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:
· Review and understand SAP’s open source software policy and tool set as well as the expectations for IP compliance.
· Execute SAP’s comprehensive Technical and Legal Compliance governance processes across global development groups, protecting SAP from license violations, intellectual property exposure and related issues.
· Executing Code Audits using our source code scanning technologies.
· Drive increased acceptance and adherence of open source compliance processes by participating in the review and approval workflows to facilitate quick comprehension of complex technology scenarios.
· Develop training classes to educate engineers, services and production staff on open source governance issues and related compliance practices.
· Participate in the continuous development of processes and tools necessary to deploy continuous intellectual property audits across SAP Group businesses, tracking and identifying compliance issues and process improvement opportunities.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years of development or QA/testing experience in Java or C++. Further deep experience with Ruby and/or JavaScript highly desired.
Experience in auditing software for Open Source artefacts using tools such as BlackDuck Protex or Flexera Code Insight (former: Palamida) and experience with Open Source licensing terms is highly appreciated.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or other technical discipline or equivalent education
Business English: fluent
