PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP HANA is a powerful data management platform that focuses on real-time business applications. At its core, SAP HANA is an in-memory database management system designed to simultaneously process transactional and analytical workloads in a wide range of environments, scaling from multi-core and multi-socket to distributed setups. To tackle the challenges of tomorrow, SAP HANA is constantly adapting to the advancements in research and technology.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
This project aims at exploring the impact of the new design space offered by newest GPU generations, e.g. HOST DEVICE data exchange mechanisms, on a database. A second goal is to design benchmarks that will be used to evaluate current and future GPU generations.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

·  Student (f/m) at a university or a university of applied sciences
·  Preferred fields of study: Technical Computer Science / Informatics, Hardware Software Co- Design, Physics, Machine Learning
·  Computer skills: Linux; C/C++, CUDA, OpenCL
·  Language skills: fluent English
·  Soft skills: individual responsibility; structured and goal-oriented operation; analytical; problem-solving; willingness to integrate
·  Others: algorithms, data structures, GPU programming, parallel programming
