Position:

 

Fieldglass is currently seeking a Reporting Engineer to work within our growing Product Development team.  This Engineer will be responsible for analyzing and supporting various components of our custom-built Reporting Tool, along with reviewing, analyzing, and optimizing complex SQL queries.  Also, in the future, the candidate may be involved in the design process for building new functionalities within the Reporting Tool. This position is located in our Naperville office.

Responsibilities include:

·  Collaborate with developers and the Professional Services team to quickly resolve reporting and database issues using technical, analytical, and communicative skills.
·  Serve as a liaison between the Report Development team and the QA, DBA, and Professional Services teams.
·  Facilitate the common understanding of reporting requirements between those requesting the functionality and the developers coding it.
·  Become familiar with the Fieldglass application functionality, which includes an understanding of the User Interface, as well as the database backend.
·  Review, analyze, validate, and provide feedback on reporting requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
·  Review and analyze SQL queries, views, functions, and stored procedures to ensure they function properly and efficiently.
·  Troubleshoot large SQL queries and their output against expected results.
·  Pull from a wide breadth of technical and business knowledge in order to solve all types of reporting issues.
·  Create documentation for current and future reporting functionality and processes.
·  Demonstrate an ability to be productive with minimal supervision.

 

We’re Looking For:

·  Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer or Information Science, Engineering, MIS, or related course of study.
·  3+ years relevant work experience demonstrating an advanced working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and general business knowledge is required.
·  2+ years of experience working with very complex data extraction using SQL queries, along with ad hoc report development is required.
·  Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate reporting requirements into technical solutions.
·  Outstanding interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work closely with business and technical teams of all skill levels is required.
