PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

 

The SAP Innovation Center Network is a strategic innovation entity within SAP, combining software engineering excellence with thought leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. Across various focus clusters and by building on strong teams, we pioneer game-changing solutions in close collaboration with startups, customers & partners in industry and research as well as with other SAP units. To ensure a successful go-to-market, we follow an end-to-end responsibility approach. By exploring unconventional ideas and developing inspiring proofs of concepts, we push the state-of-the-art in computer science and its applied fields to provide SAP with foresight into future trends.
As a Developer for machine learning solutions in SAPs Digital Core including Finance, you will work with an expert team in a startup-like environment focusing on building of new, cloud-based financial and / or logistic solutions for startups and SMEs. Your primary goal will be to build from ground up our data processing and storage infrastructure for products targeting a group of all-digital, future $1B companies. You are a self-starter, lean startup-minded, and born for life in fast paced environments. As an ideal candidate you have built cloud-based database and data stream processing systems which scale vertically and horizontally to support millions of transactions per second. You will have the chance to work free of political and technical constraints with a single purpose – to delight and amaze our users.

Desired profile

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

 

You will work very close together with a team of dedicated experts including frontend developers and architects with a single goal of designing beautiful and disruptive cloud-based solutions for finance and logistics. Your tasks include:
• Build applications and technology extension in SAPs Digital Core, including S/4HANA and SAP ERP
• Consult the development team in functional topics
• Be responsible for requirements engineering for new applications that runs inside and outside the core stack of SAP S/4HANA
• Ensure responsiveness, scalability, and maintain sub-second end-to-end latency
• Being able to work with customers and business developers to channel, understand and respond to customer requirements
• Focus on software fault-tolerance to compensate for inevitable outages in the cloud
• Take over test responsibilities from a functional point of view
• Make and take full responsibility of strategic decisions regarding the complete solution

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

Required
• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree or equal in computer science or related field
• Proven track record in development of SAP ERP Solutions
• Expert knowledge of SAP technologies (ABAP, CDS, HANA, HCP)
• Expert knowledge of database systems and SQL
• Ability to browse and analyze data to get business insights
• Experience in business applications by SAP
• Functional experience in SAP FI and related areas
• Knowledge of Automation software
• Testing and Quality Assurance of new applications
• Being able to work with customers
• Experience working in continuous delivery and continuous deployment enabled setups
• English communication and language skills

Preferred

• History of having worked in a global team
• Knowledge of Machine Learning technologies

WORK EXPERIENCE

 

At least 3 years of professional work experience with a compelling portfolio of running systems.
