PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Product System Delivery (PSD) organization within the Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) group delivers SAP product systems internally for the Development, Pre-sales, Training and Consulting business units. We adapt, innovate and simplify to empower excellence and agility in SAP. We specialize in:

·  Mission-critical revenue generating training and leading-edge demo systems
·  Large scale diverse product development and production systems
·  DevOps practices & tools integrated into product development value chain

We are looking for a developer to augment our efforts to further innovate and simplify our processes and operations through machine learning. Your primary goal will be to define and implement state of the art algorithms, and to develop new approaches and technologies for deriving value from our operations data. You will have the opportunity to directly support our project teams as well as shape and build innovative machine learning scenarios in operational intelligence. You should have a hands-on mentality and a natural curiosity to learn new technologies.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Your job would be to augment the technical knowhow of our Machine Learning team by working on internal software development projects to create new or improve/extend existing machine learning solutions to bring direct benefits to the organization. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced researchers, machine learning developers and DevOps engineers to gain their feedback and insights.

Your tasks are to:

·  Explore, understand, and implement most recent algorithms and approaches for supervised and unsupervised machine learning
·  Comfortably handle multi-terabyte data sets in scale-up and scale-out environments
·  Understand operational processes which create and consume data so as to be able to select best approaches and evaluate their performance
·  Create excellence both in terms of results quality and system scalability through continuous evaluation, analysis, and refinement of the system implementation
·  Communicate the relevance of implemented systems and achieved results in a visual and consistent way

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

You are a goal-oriented, strive for perfection engineer and a self-starter. You have a curiosity for exploring new use cases and applications of machine learning to domains spanning processing of video, structured, and other unstructured data. Ideally you bring breadth across all verticals (image, text, structured / time series data) with a depth in one of them.

Required:

·  Graduate/Post-Graduate qualifications at a university of applied sciences majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research or related field
·  Ability to solve analytical problems using statistical analysis and quantitative approaches
·  Proficiency in handling of multi-terabyte datasets in distributed Linux/Unix environments
·  Ability to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
·  Experience with Machine / Deep Learning software packages such as Caffe / Torch / Theano / TensorFlow
·  Ability to visualize data and present core insights in a clear and compelling way
·  Fluency in Java, Python, or other related programming languages
·  Language skills: Excellent English language skills
·  Soft skills: Strong team working and communication skills
·  Others: reliable, pro-active, open-minded and diligent

Preferred:

·  Track record of prior work experience in machine learning development or data sciences.
·  Experience to develop for cloud infrastructures such as AWS, Azure, YaaS or similar
·  Knowledge of IT operational intelligence tools (e.g. Splunk)
