Purpose & Objective of Position:

 

Commerce Suite is a complete enterprise toolkit that enables companies to sell more goods, services and digital content through every touchpoint, channel, computer and mobile device.  It enables “omnicommerce”:  state-of-the-art data management and unified commerce processes that give a business a single view of its customers, products and orders and that gives its customers a single view of the vendor.  Our product is used by the most famous B2B and consumer brands in the world.

To strengthen our Commerce Suite development group in Montreal, we are seeking talented student software developers for internships or work terms of 4 to 8 months.

Each chosen candidate will join one of our Scrum teams and, following Agile software development methodology, learn our technologies, Java stack and test and development frameworks and collaborate with teammates to develop new product features.

Expectations & Tasks:

As a member of one of our Agile Scrum teams, you will learn how we develop software in an agile fashion, to design, build, test, and release our product and ultimately help design and implement new APIs and features for the hybris Commerce Suite. You will:

·  participate in refactoring efforts and write the necessary tests.
·  contribute to an international project as a member of an Agile team that uses SCRUM and XP.
·  focus on creating high-quality code (unit test, integration test, continuous integration) and developing Java-based services and applications using Java EE, Spring Framework and Web Services.

Skills / Competencies:

 

·  An interest in Java and open-source technologies
·  Excellent command of the English language as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills
·  An open mind, strong sense of dedication and responsibility and an eagerness to learn and innovate!
·  Knowledge of design patterns
·  Knowledge or experience with J2EE or the Spring framework would be a plus.
·  Knowledge or experience with UI development framework like AngularJS, JavaScript would be a plus
·  Knowledge or experience with test development framework would be a plus
·  Understanding of transactional and multi-threaded processes would be a plus
·  Previous software work experience is not necessary but would be a plus

Educational Requirements: (degrees, class completion, etc.)

 

·  Completed second year of Bachelor degree or higher
·  Studies concentrated in computer science, software engineering or equivalent
