Purpose & Objective
The Global Data Management team at SAP is looking for a highly motivated Development Intern to assist with analysis and testing of software. The GDM team is responsible for prep and delivery of all reference data used by the Address Cleansing and Cleansing Package Builder technologies within Data Services. This individual will work with other developers and software testers in the implementation and/or validation of requirements and features for these products and also research and evaluate new data under consideration for expanding the global data cleansing package. The successful candidate will be able to utilize his or her educational background in creative and innovative ways while maximizing his or her effectiveness in contributing to the overall success of the team. These initiatives require basic relational database and SQL programming skills.
Expectations & Tasks

SQL Server, Internal Diagnostic tools, basic SQL coding
·
Test and analyze global cleansing package name/title/firm data
·
Work in new development systems to fix issues with specific data elements and help implement reference data from various sources
Expectations:

Must be able to interact with various aspects of the software lifecycle, including requirements, design, test planning, construction and validation
·
Must be methodical, detail-oriented, have a thorough approach to problem solving, and a team-oriented work ethic
·
Must have strong oral and written communication skills to support the capture and transfer of information with team members during the product development process
·
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment where researching, learning, and the ability to take initiative is emphasized
·
Must be able to review software technical specifications (e.g. software design, test plans, etc.)
Education and Qualification
·
Candidates must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or Master's Degree program in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree program.
·
Candidate must be in good standing within their degree program.A GPA of 3.00/4.00 or better is preferred
·
Experience and/or course work using a modern programming language (HTML, Java, C or VC++)
·
Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, compilers and debuggers
·
Knowledge of Linux operating system
·
Must be able to work onsite in La Crosse, WI for 6 months stating immediately
Additional desired skills include:
·
Experience with relational databases (MS SQL, MySQL, SQLite)
·
Experience with MFC and SQL as well as knowledge of XML
·
Experience writing scripts (batch, Unix shell, PERL, Ruby)
