PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Development team, based in Palo Alto, California, develops and delivers enterprise-level software applications that focus on Regulatory and Compliance Industries worldwide
SAP GRC development team is currently working on SAP GRC Identity & Access Governance Cloud Application, taking advantage of cutting edge SAP In-Memory Computing Database known as HANA as well as the SAP HANA Cloud Platform (HCP) Technology. Our new project includes large-scale authorization data analysis and assessment, new data modeling initiatives, using novel algorithms to compose robust and accurate risk analysis module for use in multiple GRC applications both from mobile and desktop, and thereby introducing to the market a wide new range of GRC applications and services based on our HANA technology.
As a Developer Intern in GRC team, you will be involved in the complete product development life cycle of this application, starting from requirement gathering, specification preparation, prototyping, design, implementation, testing, product ramp-up, to customer support. In particular, your work will focus on large data set and data science methodology implementation into the product. SAP Governance, Risk and Compliance development team is practicing SCRUM methodology. You will get the opportunity to immediately contribute towards empowering this new cloud solution with its analytics layer and get first-hand experience working on an enterprise cloud solution.

· Design and develop algorithm and processes for big data analysis and data mining
· Engage in and contribute towards the final, full solution (in both software codes and content) of GRC applications
· Involve in performing testing and problem analysis
· Participate in customer roll out activities as appropriate
· Perform customer support as appropriate
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
· Candidates must be currently enrolled as a full-time upper-class undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree. Candidate with major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Engineering, Information Sciences, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or other Engineering discipline is encouraged to apply.
· Strong programming experience in Java, C++, and SQL (RDBMS usage).
· Understanding or usage experience on Python or R languages would be preferred.
· Familiarity with data mining, predictive analytics concepts. Experience working on a related project is a strong plus.
· Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
· Good knowledge in using JavaScript, JDBC, ODBC, OLAP, HTML, JPA, and XML are required.
· Must be a self-starter who is technically savvy and well organized.
· Must have good communication skills with verbal and written English proficiency.
· Must have hands-on experience with MS Office applications.
· Familiarity with or involvement in Agile development methods is helpful but not mandatory.
· Learns and adapts quickly to new technologies.
· Strong inclination towards trying out new things and actively proposing new solutions. Can-do attitude.
WORK EXPERIENCE
· Prior internship experience is helpful.
