The SAP Business Data Network is an Executive Board-initiated startup unit with the vision of creating the world’s most trusted and most relevant end-to-end platform for actionable enterprise data services. We combine data engineering excellence with thought leadership and entrepreneurial spirit. We are looking to strengthen our core startup team with the expertise in Data Science & cutting edge Data Technology that is needed to execute on the unit’s vision.

As Information Developer, you will work with data engineering, product management and business to explore unconventional ideas and develop tangible proofs of concept with the intent of productizing and scaling. You will work with the richest data sets available, addressing real-world problems. Your primary responsibility will be to implement breakthrough algorithms and to develop new approaches and technologies for deriving value from our customers’ data.

The role combines:

·  experience with machine learning
·  practical knowledge of working with scalable platforms for processing of huge data sets and
·  ability to understand the data, associated processes and business implications,
·  scaling from minimum viable product up to shippable production code, building and maintaining innovative new products from the ground-up.

You are primary responsible for the following deliverables

·  Define and implement the visualization framework for SAP Data Business products and services
·  Create Data Products for commercial use , test and launch to production
·  Implement necessary methods and tools to identify data problems before they become visible to the end-user / customer
·  Evaluate new visualization technologies and methods to constantly improve the offering

 

Being a small start-up team you will closely engage with the team on the following topics in a joint accountability

·  Establishing and leveraging a customer feedback channel to improve the offerings and define the product roadmaps
·  Represent the business unit in internal and external events
·  Build and grow the team, coach and mentor less experienced colleagues and lead by example

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

Required skills

·  Master Degree or equivalents in Computer Science with Mathematics and Statistics EEO, Technical Engineering, or related field
·  Strong customer focus and entrepreneurial mindset
·  Track record and Hands on experience in handling large data set
·  Profound work ethic with excellent analytical skills including predictive modeling
·  Know How on Data Mining and semantic analysis of data
·  Show passion on the job: act as a role model for the team, show authentic behavior, pride and enthusiasm in the own job, demonstrate best practices and encourage your team members to share own experiences.
·  Strong command of German and English language (both verbal and written. Knowledge of any other language is a plus)

 

Preferred skills

·  Experience on Data Science and  Machine Learning
·  Experience with SAP cloud solutions and data models
·  Solid knowledge on Big Data and rating/ranking systems
