PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP BW/4HANA is a simpler, faster, and more flexible data warehouse. This next-generation data warehouse is built entirely on our advanced in-memory platform, SAP HANA. It offers enhanced data modeling and governance, high-performance solution development, a modern user experience (UX), and incredible flexibility. Leverage huge amounts of data – SAP application data, third-party data, unstructured data, geo-spatial data, Hadoop data, and more.
A modern and attractive user interface (UI) is a fundamental feature of BW/4 HANA. This modern UI is designed to support BW developers when developing BW metadata objects. It also supports BW administrators with the administration and operation of a BW/4 HANA system. The challenge is to develop a simple and highly efficient UI for the complex and comprehensive tasks of a BW developer and administrator.
A BW/4 HANA system leverages the full HANA platform capabilities. For a holistic user experience, it is imported that the BW/4 HANA modeling, administration and monitoring UIs are aligned and even integrated with the corresponding HANA UIs for modeling, administration and monitoring.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
 

As a development expert in the SAP BW/4 HANA UI area, you will be working with a global team of experienced and highly motivated colleagues.

 

Your primary tasks include:

·  Design, implement and test BW/4 HANA UIs for modeling, monitoring and administration.
·  Design, implement and test a REST-based UI service layer.
·  Build up and expand knowledge within and beyond SAP BW/4HANA and SAP HANA
·  Show initiative and drive topics to resolution in a high level of quality and efficiency
·  Work in a highly self-motivated and reliable manner
·  As Expert: Actively drive architecture and concept definition; guide the team through concept definition and be responsible for a complex product area
·  Maintain and support the growing customer base of BW/4 HANA
·  To deliver first class results, you handle your tasks with enthusiasm and personal commitment. You have the ambition to build future-proof products and use state of the art technologies.

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
 

·  Degree in computer science or equivalent (Bachelor/Master/PhD)
·  Proven experience in all aspects of software development and strong programming skills in ABAP and Java
·  Ideally experience with Eclipse Platform Development (EMF), SAP BW and SAP HANA
·  Advanced knowledge of software design and software architecture
·  Strong analytical skills to drive root cause analysis for complex problems
·  Endurance, determination and love of detail to build UIs with a great user experience
·  Strategic thinking combined with efficient execution and reliable delivery
·  Willingness to continuously learn both new technology and application knowledge
·  Very good communications skills, strong customer focus and service mindset
·  Motivated, committed, and strong self-initiative
·  Excellent team player with the ability to coordinate across board areas, functions and time zones
·  Fluency in English and German (both written and spoken) is a must

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

To fill the vacant position, we are looking for an experienced colleague who can – after an introduction period – lead, guide and coordinate development in the relevant product area. You have many years of experience in professional software development and working in larger development teams.
