PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The Customer Engagement Executive (CEE) is responsible for effective positioning of the Ariba network value proposition, overall health and retention of customers within their portfolio, and management of alliance partners necessary to support the customer.
The Customer Engagement Executive (CEE) has overall responsibility for the daily management of assigned customer accounts, including account management strategies as well as engagement and expansion plans to ensure profitable growth within Ariba's core customers.
The primary focus of this position is to maximize the value that customers and Ariba receive through adoption and use of the Ariba Network. The CEE is expected to serve as the primary point of contact for the customer, to increase customer spend and number of transacting suppliers on the Ariba Network to maximize revenue and to maintain customer satisfaction through issue mitigation and escalation management. The CEE is responsible for retention of customers within their portfolio, effective positioning of the Ariba Network value proposition in order to leverage adoption of our solutions and services necessary to support the customer.

- Establishing strong relationships with our customers focusing on their savings and efficiency goals
- Aligning their enablement plans to achieve broad network and solution adoption
- Advocating for the customer as the primary contact for issue management and Resolution
- Increasing overall spend and transacting supplier volume over the Ariba network to maximize buyer and supplier value.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

- Develop and implement account strategies and implementation plans that further existing account adoption and identify new business opportunities within assigned accounts.
These plans should:

- Increase spend under management, network adoption, transaction volume and trading relationships on the Ariba Network
- Ensure rapid adoption and enablement of solutions that drive network value for the customer
- Expand business process automation across IT, Procurement and Finance functions
- Track SLA performance and overall customer satisfaction
- Meet or exceed account-specific revenue and profitability goals for account portfolio including but not limited to renewals, services, subscription software expansion, and network revenue growth
- Maintain a close working relationship other regional business teams in support of global customers and corporate functions necessary to support all assigned accounts
- Act as primary escalation point for accounts within their portfolio
- Drive opportunity development (including growth and qualification of pipeline and accurate forecasting)
- Deal management and commercial negotiation of the entire opportunity (from opportunity to close)
- Facilitate quarterly Account Reviews with customer and Ariba team members to confirm ongoing customer account goals and strengthen relationships
- Manage new account assignment into portfolio

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

- Bachelor's Degree (Advanced Degree)
- 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in the process of complex Account Management
- Multi-lingual depending upon region
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

WORK EXPERIENCE

- Experience selling or delivering consulting services
- Experience managing complex customer engagements
- Commercial experience including experience developing account management plans
- Supply Chain, Finance, and Procurement expertise and E-Business experience
