PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Application development in the cloud has evolved towards ‘Cloud-Native’ architectures that use patterns like microservices, no-SQL databases, serverless computing, and technologies like Cloud Foundry, Docker, Kubernetes, Hadoop, Cassandra, Kafka, Spark, Scala etc. At SAP, several groups are working on this “new stack” to build the new generation of services and applications.

As part of the Cloud & Lifecycle Management organization (CLM), our mission is to offer standardized services for managing the lifecycle of SAP solutions. In the context of the “new stack”, we are evolving a portfolio of services that enable the lifecycle management of applications built on the SAP Cloud Platform (formerly HCP) and using big data technologies like Vora and the SMACK stack.

To enable and drive this vision, we are looking for highly-motivated technology experts who bring with them the experience in working with these technologies.

Desired profile

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

·  Driving conceptual research and prototyping in the “new stack”
·  Engaging with stakeholders (CP, IoT, Vora…) to define lifecycle management solutions in this space
·  Defining technology strategy, architecture vision and blueprints for lifecycle management solutions in this space
·  Mentoring a team of developers and architects working on the new technologies
·  Working with the Product Owners to define a backlog that is aligned with the architecture of these new solutions

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  Required skills  

·  Bachelor/Master degree in computer science or equivalent 
·  Experience in architecting distributed software solutions
·  Conversant with cloud-native architectures; at least 1 to 2 years of experience working with these technologies 
·  Ability and interest to work in a dynamic environment
·  Verbal and written fluency in English and German

Preferred skills

·  Container technologies, e.g. docker, kubernetes
·  Big-data technologies, e.g. SMACK Stack, Vora
·  Experience with IaaS providers, e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP
·  Experience with Cloud Foundry
