Engineering Projects Manager

About the Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Head of Innovation, Digital and Engineering and as a leader for Sanofi, you will play an integral role within the Waterford extended leadership team, ensuring reliable delivery of capital investment projects to meet our site operational and program transfer needs.

Responsibilities

·  Provide leadership to the Engineering Projects team and management of external services contracts.
·  Portfolio Management of all tiers of Capital Projects at Waterford.
·  Builds and maintains a strong network of external stakeholders within Sanofi and within industry in Ireland.
·  Responsibility for delivery of site SBO’s pertaining to Capital Projects and realization of cash-out and SPE approval budgets and budget forecasting.
·  Key partner and accountable for the engineering components of NPI activity in transferring new products to site.
·  Maintain and strengthen relationships with department team leaders and team members and ensure a strong emphasis on the development of these resources.
·  Encourage team member & team innovation with a strong emphasis on team member personal responsibility.
·  Manage department spending and invest in opportunities to improve spend performance.
·  Support operational performance through participation on the site’s APU and APT teams.
·  Ensure cGMP compliance is paramount in all department maintenance activities and systems and ensure area regulatory compliance, audit readiness and post-audit finding implementation.
·  Demonstrated knowledge of capital project.
·  Play an active leadership role in Health, Safety and Environmental compliance at all times. Actively support and promote HSE initiatives that target HSE compliance.
·  Provide strong contribution to site Engineering leader forums and projects to ensure consistency of approach across site.
·  Provide leadership to the Engineering Projects team and management of external services contracts.

To excel in this role you will need to have:-

 

Essential requirements:

·  Higher Level Degree in Third level engineering qualification or equivalent.
·  Minimum 3 years’ experience in an Engineering Leadership role or equivalent.
·  Full understanding of Health &Safety and legal requirements for the safe operation of their team, contractors and vendors under their control.
·  5 - 8 years’ experience of pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
·  Minimum of 1 year experience on at least 1 significant Tier 1 Capital Project.
·  Technical knowledge of relevant manufacturing technology.
·  Detailed knowledge of cGMP and how it relates to engineering and validation lifecycles.
·  Comprehensive knowledge of the capital projects lifecycle and project controls - Gate 0 through PQ and operational readiness, associated quality systems, automation and validation.
·  Excellent interpersonal skills – active listener.
·  Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
·  Effective facilitator.

 

It would be advantageous to have (not essential):

·  Has lead a team of engineers supporting the deployment of capital projects within Sanofi.
·  Has a proven track record in managing a diverse portfolio of a wide range of projects or activities.
