Program SaVIE (VIE of Sanofi) is available to citizens of the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28.

Mission:
Public private partnerships (PPP), such as the FP7 and Horizon 2020 frameworks of the European Commission, are leading programs for innovation in the pharmaceutical industry.
Horizon 2020 as the biggest EU research and innovation program ever, enables funding of projects for academic and private partners that improve development and patients’ access to innovative medicines and targeting unmet medical needs. These PPPs represent attractive means to leverage resources across industry, academia, as well including regulators and patient organizations in order to address key challenges in drug development in an area of constrained resources and increased regulatory pressure.
Apart from the large EU programs, PPPs are becoming increasingly important means of innovation on a global level, with different programs and initiatives that have been launched, such as the FDA Critical Path to New Medical Products Initiative and the NIH Accelerating Medicines Partnership).
The PPP Alliance Management Team, as part of Sanofi’s Strategy Science Policy & External Innovation (S&I) department, is leveraging this novel paradigm of external innovation. The VIE position will contribute to the team’s mission:
- Improving Sanofi’s external innovation capacity by driving Horizon 2020 consortia.
- Leading effectively and results-oriented the preparation and implementation of complex PPP consortia with external partners for Sanofi R&D and affiliates (Sanofi Pasteur, Merial, etc.).
- Building and managing PPP alliances involving relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Establishing governance and periodical reporting structures to ensure project progress based on relevant KPIs and milestones
- Providing support to different functions regarding PPP implementation and governance
- Generating a strategic documentation of the landscape of existing PPPs globally, reflecting the different funding models, volumes, scientific topics, strategies and stakeholders involved.
- Monitor the global PP landscape to identify novel opportunities and emerging trends.
Profile:
M.S. degree in pharmaceutics, chemistry, biology or medicine
Fluency in English (excellent TOEIC/TOEFL); Good German proficiency definitely a plus
- Experience in biotech/pharmaceutical sectors and the drug development process
- Preferred experience in project management, contracting, intellectual property management
- Ability to build cross-functional and external relationships and to communicate with partners in pharmaceutical companies, academic institutes and SMEs
- Good organization and time management skills
- Self-motivated and an excellent team player
- Capability to build teams of stakeholders with different backgrounds internally and externally
- Willing to work under tight deadlines and to handle multiple projects simultaneously
