Program SaVIE (VIE of Sanofi) is available to citizens of the European Economic Area (EU + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland) aged between 18 and 28.

Protein Scientist

Biologics Research (BR) is a global organization (Paris, Frankfurt, and Framingham) within the R&D organization of SANOFI. In collaboration with Disease Areas, Biologics Research builds the biologics pipeline, through supporting the discovery of antibody, protein and RNA therapeutics. Over the past several years, SANOFI has had a great number of innovative biological entities approved by the FDA for clinical development. SANOFI is now further expanding its biologics capabilities to leverage a variety of innovative engineered protein based therapeutics for different disease areas to improve the lives of patients.
Job Details:
We have an open position as a bench scientist in our “Protein Design & Purification Technologies” team for an energetic, talented and motivated scientist to join our Biologics team in Frankfurt/Main to support research discovery and pre-clinical therapeutic programs in a dynamic, team-oriented and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities and activities include (but are not limited to):
- Protein expression in different organisms (E.coli, Yeast, mammalian cells)
- Operation of protein/antibody purification equipment (such as AKTA) in a professional work environment
- Utilization of analytics equipment (such as HPLC) for the collection of protein/antibody quality data
- Functional and physico-chemical characterization of protein batches by different methods
- Documentation of results in official reports, databases and lab notebook
- Communication of results with upstream and downstream partners, both in written updates and oral presentation
Candidate:
- Completed university education (Master / Diploma) in the area of Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related field
- Experience with protein expression and chromatography technologies
- Experiences with cell culture techniques, fermentation and molecular biology experience will be a strong plus
- Good problem-solving skills and high motivation
- Good communication skills and the ability to contribute in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), German and French is a plus.
