Join the Novartis Talent Acquisition & Staffing (TAS) team in Basel within an international working environment and contribute towards how Novartis attracts and recruits the best scientific, medical and business talents from around the world into Switzerland. Your work will support approx. 7 Talent Acquisition Managers including the Head TAS Switzerland within an overall Basel team of approx.13.
Duration: initial 6 months full time
Start: ASAP
This is an internship position for a recent graduate: to qualify you must be a master or bachelor degree graduate from 2016 or later (your start date should be maximum 1 year after graduation).
Main accountabilities include
• Manage the Talent Acquisition & Staffing relationship with Novartis HR Services Switzerland for efficient initiation of employment contracts through to confirmation of hire and onboarding, collaborating with Staffing colleagues, HR Partners, candidates, line clients & admin for a successful conclusion to the recruitment experience
• Liaise within Staffing and partner with HR colleagues (including HR Generalists, HR specialists from Compensation & Benefits, HR Services, Policies & Standards, Legal, Global Mobility, Finance and Crown Relocations) for advice and guidance towards solutions for questions about Staffing policies and processes to help candidates, colleagues and clients
• Support Basel Staffing Managers across sourcing, selection and hiring activities, including job advert writing, job boards/social media, employee referral program encouragement, managing and sourcing candidates in the Novartis applicant database (BrassRing), liaising career fair / visits to congresses
• Multiple project co-ordination in a support or lead role, identifying and implementing new or revised processes and policies, ensuring TAS Switzerland is aligned with TAS Global, working closely with the global TAS Program Management Office coordinator
• Data management and reporting for TAS leadership and Staffing Managers using BrassRing candidate applicant database, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint
• Team administration, ensuring compliance with Novartis standards (for example, branding, some interview logistics, travel and meeting organization, expense tracking, agency contracts, team meeting notes/action management)
Desired profile
Minimum requirements
• Master or Bachelor University degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, International Business Management or other business/Social Science degree that includes education in Human Resources. Graduation within 2016 or 2017
• Evidence of career interest for Human Resources
• Previous intern/work experience in a mid-large size, fast moving, matrix environment; from within Human Resources or Staffing is ideal
• Demonstrated sensitivity dealing with confidential and personal data
• Proven collaborative team colleague, customer focused attitude, sense of humour, calm and productive under time pressure, keeping stakeholders informed, active listening skills, taking task ownership through to successful delivery, meeting deadlines, strong attention to detail, prioritisation, lateral/creative/analytical thinking, solution-oriented approach
• A natural interest in others, your positive, clear and proactive approach enables you to engage and influence those you work with. Used to considering the impact of your language on others, the accuracy of what you write, and proof-reading material for grammar, spelling and stylistic mistakes
• Advanced IT literacy, quickly learning new office / meeting room technology
• Advanced/fluent English and intermediate-advanced German
• You should hold an EU passport, Swiss passport, or already have the unlimited right to live and work in Switzerland
