Job Description
This role is accountable to support the engineering of Documentum D2 components for the Novartis document management systems, newly built platform that hosts all future applications. • Design approaches and strategies for Documentum integration and development, while adhering to Enterprise Content Management best practices and implementation standards • Design and implement features and functionality for upcoming major and minor releases mainly on D2 layer but also all other Documentum platform technologies as necessary (Content services, Full Text Services) • Work with solution architects on the technical design of core components • Ensure that project/enhancements work is delivered to agreed time, cost and quality constraints following the release calendars • Resolve customer issues and provide debugging if necessary primarily for D2 components (L4 support) • Single Point of accountability for all D2 technical questions • Responsible for continuous improvement and management of changes affecting the services • Collaboration with the application and project management teams that build and manage the applications running on top of the platform to ensure all necessary requests are managed within the platform framework • Take accountability to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within Solution Design scope • Manage external partners who provide the scale and specific expertise around Documentum D2 and ensure consistent quality.
Service Development -Analyze Core contribution on D2 layer on new service offers and the adoption of existing service offers - Design of the technical implementation within the area of responsibility -Build or organize the build of the designed service with focus on the operational stability and usability of the service -Test Following the Novartis standard approach for validated environments Service Deployment & Transition -Change Management-Support change Planning and control, change and release scheduling in the area of accountability -Support the execution of platform changes for the area of accountability (configuration changes, software upgrades, functional enhancements, reports, IQ Testing) -Validation of platform environment changes (OQ + PQ testing) -Documentation of platform environment changes Support emergency changes Ensure traceability for all changes arising from an incident/problem Planning and preparation for building, testing and deployment of enhancements Document Outstanding Defects and Workarounds Transfer, deployment and retirement, Early Life Support Knowledge Management Ensure knowledge transfers Overview the creation and maintenance of low to medium complex KBAs Support the creation and maintenance of high complex KBAs Service Operations Event Management Process Coordination and Execution Support, e.g. Manage Event logging, define action limits, categorize events and perform trend analysis on platform layer for the area of expertise Support platform operations in the overall monitoring setup for the area of responsibility Incident Management Restauration of services in close conjunction with the 1st Level point of entry, 2nd and 3rd level and as well other Novartis IT services like infrastructure Routine incident reviews & support major incident reviews for area of expertise Service Request Fulfilment Oversight and support for high complex service requests Standardizing complex service requests (left-shift) Problem Management To identify the causes of service issues and commission corrective work to prevent recurrences. Plays a major role in establishing the root cause and proposal of permanent fixes for the services owned Reactive and Proactive Problem Management -Security Management :Manage security updates/patches in the area of accountability Ensure risks to CI's are mitigated -Lifecycle Management Manage technology upgrades, releases and improvements in area of accountability.
• Services are managed within SLA/OLA KPIs • Service capacity is available within plannable parameters • Service changes are handled through releases and within the Novartis compliance framework • Novartis IT services are leveraged within the wider framework of standardized IT services (particularly for COEs) • Establish successful partnerships with key delivery providers such as TIS and external companies such as OpenText, D4N platform and other Documentum services • Seen as team player, supporting all colleagues in Global IT
Desired profile
Minimum requirements
• Minimum education: University degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering • Desirable education: Master’s degree Fluent English written & spoken Min 10 years of IT experience in large and complex global IT landscape. Min 5 years of experience in Documentum technology stack. Minimum 2 years of D2 experience preferably in Pharma Industry and GxP environment. Knowledge of the technical details of underlying infrastructure, applications, data and the inter-relationship between each of those (RedHat Linux, Oracle Database) ITIL understanding, minimum foundation GxP: sound knowledge of validation practice and IT control standards
