Reporting to the CEO, the corporate strategy team support the Executive Committee of Novartis (ECN) to define the company strategy and prioritize the actions needed to deliver our mission: to discover new ways to extend and improve people’s lives.
As a (senior) manager in the team you would be responsible for managing high profile, company-wide projects that address the top priorities for the company. These topics would address the core pillars of our strategy: Cultural transformation; R&D productivity; Operational excellence; Data & Digital; our social contract with society and overall portfolio strategy.
Each of these topics individually has the potential to change the way Novartis operates for value creation and competitive advantage.
You will be expected to work with the senior leadership across our businesses and operating func-tions to drive and execute this agenda.
This is also a unique moment in Novartis’ history as we transition to our new CEO leadership, with an opportunity for you to work on shaping the new agenda for the company.
This is a high visibility and demanding role, but brings with it the opportunity to learn about the company, shape global healthcare trends and have impact at the highest level.
The Senior Manager Corporate Strategy will be responsible for:
Manage strategic topics
• Support Global Head of Strategy and Strategy Directors in managing key strategic topics for the company
• Prepare written communication for internal and external stakeholders, including senior management
• Lead projects, develop insights, make recommendations, and manage stakeholders to bring the company to informed decisions
• Actively contribute to annual 5-year strategic planning process
External and Internal environment
• Monitor industry trends and assess their possible impact on the Novartis corporate strategy
• Write structured analysis and commentary on external trends to shape and inform the Executive Committee’s thinking
• Provide structured analysis of internal performance on key company topics across businesses and functions
• Provide insight into Health Care Systems as our core customer
Stakeholder collaboration
• Develop network of functional experts and strategy managers across Novartis

Desired profile
Minimum requirements
• Graduate degree and/or an MBA from a top business school
• High proficiency in English
• Knowledge of the Pharma industry, and specific industry experience i.e., in commercial or R&D
• 1-2 years consulting experience with a top-tier consultancy or an equivalent strategic role in business
• Very experienced in structured writing, able to produce high-quality presentations
