These positions are specifically for a recent Master or Bachelor degree graduate starting within 12 months of graduation. Duration will be 1-3 years depending on your experience, skills and personal objectives. What your job will look like:
You will work in close collaboration with Talent Acquisition & Staffing Business Partners and other Novartis functions across a broad range of recruitment activities, from designing and executing candidate / talent attraction strategies to a range of process improvement projects.
• Talent attraction & selection: Attend Recruitment Strategy Meetings with TAS Business Partners and Hiring Managers to discuss business needs and plan recruiting strategies. Craft impactful job adverts and advertise where they will be effective; drive Employee Referrals; attend career events; proactively search for new candidates in the Novartis Applicant Tracking System (IBM Kenexa BrassRing) and LinkedIn. Review applications to select qualified candidates and support TAS Business Partners in screening interviews
• Offer Management: Support the development of offers including relocation packages; order offer contracts and initiate onboarding
• Partner collaboration: Liaise with a range of different units including Novartis HR Services, HR Policies & Standards, Compensation & Benefits, HR Legal, HR generalists, Talent Management, Talent Scouting, D&I Switzerland, Global Mobility, Crown Relocations, Procurement, Finance, Communications, TAS Project Management Office, onsite RPO Korn Ferry Futurestep, IBM Kenexa (BrassRing). Become a specialist in TAS policies, processes and techniques, able to advise all on best practice. Build and maintain excellent relationship with all parties involved.
• Reporting: Collection, interpretation and reporting of TAS data for management and TAS Business Partner strategies using Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, IBM Kenexa BrassRing
• Team administration: ensure compliance with Novartis and legal standards when supporting team administrative tasks such as advertising and branding job adverts, managing BrassRing data, ordering contracts, agency invoice payments and expense tracking
• Project co-ordination & process improvement: Work on a range of TAS projects in a support or lead role, identifying and implementing new or revised policies and processes, ensuring TAS Switzerland is aligned with global TAS and Novartis Switzerland / Global approaches
You will join a diverse team of Talent Acquisition Professionals in Basel of approximately 20 colleagues on the Novartis Campus that has approximately 8,000 employees and over 100 nationalities.

Desired profile
Minimum requirements
• Graduation no more than 1 year before start date: preferably Master degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, International Business Management or other business/Social Science degree. Otherwise, Bachelor degree plus relevant previous HR work experience/internships
• Previous reasonable periods of work experience / internships in a mid-large size, fast moving, international matrix environment where you were given accountability for your own work and had a positive impact. Staffing/recruitment or other HR experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrable curiosity and history of interest in people and the complexity of matching talented candidates to positions that are ideal for them as well as an employer. Theoretical and practical experience of different sourcing and interview techniques preferred
• Successful experience of developing new ideas and approaches that are pragmatic and effective then influencing others to adopt these
• Excellent communication skills: your natural interest in others allows you to proactively approach and speak with people from different countries, cultures, education, experience and seniority. You consider the impact of what you write and say and how your language affects others
• You enjoy working with people that have different nationalities, languages, thinking styles and approaches to work: sharing ideas and humour with colleagues, asking questions to check your understanding, and checking for help when you’re not sure
• You are self-motivated and enjoy working independently within a good team, setting your own priorities and deadlines to help the team objectives and needs succeed because of your strong attention to detail, prioritization and keeping calm and productive when busy
• Used to working sensitivity with confidential and personal data
• Advanced IT literacy, quickly learning new technology
• Business-level written and spoken English. Additional German or French would be an advantage
