PURPOSE
The Launch Supply Manager manages launch supply chain milestones/stage gates and functions as a supply planning lead for a subset of the new internal and external product portfolio as assigned. Leads essential interactions between Sandoz US Supply Chain and other functions (e. g. Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Franchise team) and assigned Internal or Third Party suppliers. Responsible for achieving on time in full launch supply, inventory and other targeted key performance metrics. Must communicate effectively and in a timely manner to the appropriate levels within Sandoz to inform and for issue escalation as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages internally and globally aligned new product supply chain stage gates and milestones
• Establishes and maintains key relationships with Internal or Third Party manufacturing suppliers while ensuring adequate pharmaceutical new product supply and accurate inventory management for assigned portfolio. Effectively works with Site Launch/Supply Chain managers and Supplier Relationship Managers
• Prepares different launch supply scenarios according to provided forecast scenarios by Commercial launch management team.
• Supports Launch Investment approval process by providing launch supply scenarios, inventory impact and potential write off risk according to provided forecast scenarios by Commercial launch management team
• Supports Commercial launch management team with all supply chain related activities
• Monitors launch demand changes and necessary updates in SAP and update supply plan accordingly
• Supports new product annual and strategic budget process (volume & inventory)
• Supports new product system set up process
• Proactively and continually monitors Supplier performance and the end-to-end Launch Supply Process to identify and capture opportunities to streamline activities, minimize waste, increase flexibility, and enhance responsiveness.
• Manages contract and capacity constraints with forecasted demand requirements, including the management of safety stock levels to optimize customer service while minimizing loss due to carrying costs and obsolescence. Ensure the utilization of systems and the execution of process steps to meet anticipated requirements for long-term forecasts, preventing stock-outs, backorders and maximizing the value of slow moving inventory.
• Utilize extensive understanding of both logistics and regulatory requirements to oversee and manage every step necessary to ensure finish goods, API and components are in stock and available to suppliers. This includes oversight and coordination of Warehousing, Import/Export constraints, and Quality Control requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring the availability of all necessary raw materials to support production activities at suppliers. Maintains key supplier performance measurements, including extensive understanding of complex contract terms and measuring whether supplier performance is meeting those terms.
• Reviews performance with Suppliers through monthly S&OP meetings (where applicable), including the proactive identification and implementation of improvements to enhance supply planning performance and customer service while maintaining or improving manufacturing/packaging cycle times.
• Proactively identify potential impacts to supply. Effectively leverages relationships and excellent communication skills to coordinate with Management, Commercial launch management team, Quality, Regulatory, Sales and Marketing and other critical functions to establish opportunities to minimize any negative outcomes.
• Utilizes SAP and other reporting software to inform upper management of current and projected disruptions in the internal and external supply sites.
• Prepares analytical reports and processes based on system and contractual data/supply chain rules to ensure full knowledge of the current situation and with the goal of developing robust reporting tools that can allow pre-emptive measures to shorten the impact to the US business.
• Process improvement: Implement/Maintain launch supply planning process documentation and maintain a deviation report book, focusing on corrective actions/preventive actions. Maximize IT utilization.
• Knowledge and reliability to stand in when in absence of other management in key local and global meetings.

Desired profile
Minimum requirements
BA/BS degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field. APICS Certification desirable. Minimum of 5-7 years related experience with a minimum of 3 years in a pharmaceutical environment or other GMP regulated industry
